I sit next to an Australian...he wanted me to ask. I feel the U.S. needs to in order to free the opressed Aboriginals....just a thought.....

Since the Australian people are very intelligent people, they'd surrender immediately, and then ask the US troops if they'd like to join them for a couple beers.
The winner would be the bars and pubs in Australia

The Navy invades all the time... spends millions of dollar and chases the women.
Not a chance of hostile action in the forseeable future.
Does your friend have any understanding of the way the Native American's were/are treated in the US?

Australia is a friend and always has been.
Going to Australia is like going to the UK only the people are actually friendly in Australia.
Militarily they wouldnt stand a chance but militarily they wouldnt have to, we would never do anything to hurt them.
They are long time allies.

Hmm...
The rest of our allies would embargo us, and send aid to Australia, if not directly intervene.
The American people would riot or even rebel.
Our military would quickly seize key cities, and not know what to do with them after that, and then would face a large scale rebellion.
But last, I am curious as to why you think we would do that?
