truth obvious? Are those who don't accept trying to make monkies of themselves?

Catholics, overall are the most intelligent of Christians, so it comes as no surprise that they accept Evolution, albeit not completely and a bit late.

Atheist.

Who says that atheists are the most intelligent group? Following your logic, then the majority is always the one to be followed and their teachings are to be accepted as truth. So, shouldn't all atheists accept that God exists? I am a devout Christian and am an intelligent person. I do not believe the theory of evolution because it is bad science, not because the Bible tells me to.

Hm.

I accept evolution and am a Christian, but that doesn't mean I like your question. Evolution did happen, but not because it won a popularity contest.

And to all those people who keep saying that Catholics aren't Christians, I don't like your answers, either.

1 - Catholics aren't Christians, and Christians aren't Catholics in the true sense of their doctrine.

2 - Not sure where you got the idea Catholics ALL beleive evolution - I'm sure some do, but not all.

3- the most intelligent group are Athiest - where did that come from? how was that measured? I'm sure there is wholesale stupid on both sides.

4 - Evolution is still a theory, not a fact, not a truth.
For a fact to be in place, it has to have observable data or incidents that is up for falsifiability and debate.

"Fact" vs "Theory"
A "fact" in science is an observation.
A "theory" in science is an explanation of the observations.

Hope this helps - now I'll finish my bananas.

Much as I support evolution and efforts to propagate it, I have to say that you're using Argumentum ad Numeram here, and that's naughty.

Numbers don't count, unless they bear directly on the issue. The fact that 90%+ of Americans are theists is weak evidence for anything. The fact that only 10% of Academy of Science members are theists is much more significant.

As a non-Christian and a non-Atheist I really do not like your question. Yes the largest Christian religion is Roman Catholic. But Atheists are not necessarily the smartest group. Not all scientists, writers, doctors, tacticians, programmers, and other groups are necessarily atheist. Like I said, I am not an atheist but I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nuclear Physics and in Mathematics, a Masters of Science in Business, and a PHD in Business Science. Kind of throws a monkey wrench into your lopsided question, doesn't it?

I am a Christian, neither Catholic or any denominations, I am Apostolic Pentacost by experince, I don't need to make a monkey of myself, because I did not evovle from Monkies. Now you have just made a monkey out of your self & the catholics, & the athesists. Oh Yes, Tell your family that they forgot to evolve

To what extent is the theory of evolution applicable to man? That God should have made use of natural, evolutionary, original causes in the production of man's body, is per se not improbable, and was propounded by St. Augustine (see AUGUSTINE OF HIPPO, SAINT, under V. Augustinism in History). The actual proofs of the descent of man's body from animals is, however, inadequate, especially in respect to paleontology. And the human soul could not have been derived through natural evolution from that of the brute, since it is of a spiritual nature; for which reason we must refer its origin to a creative act on the part of God.

Your post is misleading and does not represent the Catholic views on evolution.

If you really study evolution you will find that it is still just a theory. Theory's are not fact. So instead of calling people who disagree with you monkeys maybe you should do a little more reading.
