I know that I need to start working out because my clothes are fitting tighter and I feel gross. I keep planning to work out and I buy healthy food and fruits and veggies at the store but it always ends up being more convenient to eat pizza than cook a healthy meal. Plus I always seem to find something better to do than exercise (such as Y! Answers). How can I get myself to go to the gym? I can work out for free at my University but I just hate going. I think I'm too lazy. Help!!

Do you have a picture of yourself when you were thinner? Or, you can go to the mall & buy a cute outfit (or, even just a top) & hang it in plain sight,so you have something to strive for. Or, you could do the opposite. Find a picture that you think that you look absolutely horrible in & look at it often to motivate you. This is what I do. I have a pic of myself & my bf that I keep hanging up at my desk in which I totally look at least 3 months preg. in. Oh, one last thing.............throw out your scale ! I have found that stepping on the scale is totally counter-productive. Whne you workout, you are bound to gain some muscle & muscle weighs more than fat & there's nothing worse than stepping on a scale & either not seeing it move, or, doing the opposite. Insead, judge your weight-loss by the way you look in the mirror & also on how your clothes feel/fit. If they fit better/looser, than you are doing good !

You hate exercising because it is work. You probably have plenty of work to do so it is going to feel like more. I would like to exercise more than I do. If I had someone to exercise with, I would be more inclined to go. I sort of have a free place to go as well. I'm gonna offer some advice that I should listen to myself. It will just take 30-45 minutes 3 days a week. You can find that amount of time to do it. Reward yourself with some time on Yahoo Answers after you work out.

A workout buddy is a great way to get motivated. But what really works for me is a fun class. There are gyms all over that offer classes like kickboxing, hip hop, pilates, step, or cycling. Its a different kind of workout and believe me, its so much more fun than just running on a treadmil or going from machine to machine. You'll really enjoy it, get to meet new people, and the time flies by.

You have to keep in mind the end result. For me, I wanted to start running more, but I just didn't like it that much. So i forced myself to run EVERYDAY for as long as I could. I ended up going for 3 weeks straight and didn't skip a single day. So when I finally took a break, I found out how much I missed it. So just try something like that. Go to they gym for like 1 hour a day, and one day work your lower body, the next work the upper, and just switch on and off like that. Go everyday for as long as you can, and you will 1. Notice a difference and 2. Probably realize you enjoy it!!!! Good luck!!!

that it your lazy, your not used to doing any exercise, start by doing some walking, and try some exercise at home, sit ups, etc, then you will get into a routine and feel like you have more energy, then can go to the gym, and you will soon be doing it all the time.

because your not motivated! get motivated. you know what helps me? getting those fitness magazines and checking out those hot bodies! they makes me wanna get on a treadmill and work it! even walking or jogging for 10 minutes a day is better than nothing! do some pilates or yoga...those are easy nice workouts. trust me...once you get into working out, its hard to stop! i hated working out 2 weeks ago but now since ive been consistent with it, i love it! i want to work out everyday! i love seeing the results i get from it and how it makes me so confident. take your time with it. dont overdue it either. best wishes sweetie!

I dont know how to help you but I do know how you feel. I seem to have spent most of my life battling with my weight and fitness. Maybe get a job as a dog walker for somebody, that would at least force you to get out and walk.

Go straight to the gym after work, every day, before you come home ... or better yet - get up 2 hours earlier, go to the gym before you go to work - then go to sleep 2 hours earlier. I realize that sounds "impossible" - but it's not. It's mind-over-matter - you can make it happen if you want it bad enough.

Good luck.

I don't think anyone hate working as much as I do. i only work and have fun doing it with a friend or a work out buddy. that's the only way I can get motivated and stick with it.

You need a work out buddy - That way you will feel obligated to go so you won't let that person down.
