No, you are not a fool. We have an inert need to believe in something or someone that can be all powerful. Having a belief in something is helpful in times of stress, or grief, or any number of things. I personally do not have a Christian view, but, I do not discount faith. What is their to life if we cannot find at least one thing to believe in? There are people who get strength from God, some who have other Gods and Goddesses to have faith in and follow. While I did not grow up in a "Christian" household, I do believe there is something or someone "up there" that is there for me to talk to.
Why would having a faith, or belief give you such sorrow? We loose people, things, health, love all the time, believing in your self and your "God" is what keeps us strong.
If you are having a lack of faith, read about other faiths. There are so so so many. One of them is sure to help you.
I am Pagan, I believe in all things there is faith and love, and comfort.
Question your God, I hope though, that you do not question your faith, especially in yourself.

Psa 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Psa 37:23-25 The steps of a (good) man are ordered by the LORD: and he delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
No, you cannot be a fool trusting in God. Look at all He's done for you... The true statement is GOD BELIEVES IN YOU!
What have YOU done for HIm?

You may have been. Even those who have a good belief in God need to GROW, even in their religious beliefs. I'm a Catholic NOW, but started out a free thinker, was baptized a Methodist at 16, and have been several non-Christian religions in between. I still study religion regularly and will until the day I die ... but even if you were a fool because you and your belief didn't grow, even if you 'seriously doubt' your belief now, you'll still go to Heaven in the end. I'll see you there!

yes. religion just makes you think you can only achieve with the help of something else. makes you waste time praying when you could be doing. And prevents you from ever doing a genuinely good deed; doing something because you think it will give you a key to heaven or save you from hell is not a real good deed. i dont doubt jesus existed and said things thats would help all people to live together better. But i dont believe any god was involved. books by the dalai lama offer similar wisdom without the corruption of a religion. what made you stop believing

It is very sad for me to read this line from you. But whether you believe in God or not he believes in you. He knows exactly where you are and one day will tell you face to face. That He was always there and you could have done more than believe you could have had a true personal relationship with him. You see I call Him Abba (Father) That is personal. I know that sometimes we get angry because of things that happen in our lives. Then the first thing we want to do is blame God or say we don't believe. However the TRUTH is one day you will not have that opportunity. Please don't give up believing He gave the best in Heaven for you and all who have breath in their bodies. John: 3-16,17

its america you are allowed to believe in anything, as for a fool not so sure about that, I believe but do not practice. I say I am not so sure if you are a fool because of this simple fact..... everyone needs a crutch, something to believe in when everything goes wrong, something to look to, or someone to talk to. everyone needs that one out. now ask yourself now that you are questioning yourself were you more happy then when you believed or more happy now questioning that your whole past has been a fake?

Even if God exists or not, I think you need to ask if you gained anything from believing. Does it give you some sense of peace, hope, or drive? I think that's more important than if you were right or not. Also, if it did guide you through life, then you were not a fool at all.

Which god did you believe in for 54 years? If you believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, then no you were not a fool to believe in Christ. You are a fool if you don't believe in Him because He created all things. You live in a world of deception. Have you been deceived?

No, they are the fools. Ps. 14:1. Remember that God is Jesus
and Jesus is God the 2nd person of the Trinity. You are so
wealthy in Christ and they are so poor. If Y/A shakes your faith,
stay off. They will attack you like a pack of dogs.
