My ex boyfriend has told me that I mean a lot to him and that he thinks I am perfect. He also told me I could vent to him whenever I feel like it and I don't bore him. And later this year, he is flying halfway around the world to see me. He sometimes would say things like " I wish I was there with you".
I broke up with him 15 months ago and we haven't seen each other since. But we have been in touch and remain good friends. He says I am one of his best friends.
I have missed him and want to get back together with him, but I am unsure of his feelings for me. As I was the one who broke up with him, I don't know if it's ok to ask him back.

If you want him back, tell him so. Sounds like he still has feelings for you, and if you were the one to break up, then he would probably welcome the opportunity to be back in your life romantically.

It may be that he still have some feelings for you, but you may need to wonder is he just wanting something that he can't have? And thinks he still have feelings for you.
Also you might want to remind yourself of the reason you broke it off with him in the first place. If you have just come out of a break-up,You just might be feeling a little lonely right now.
I think you two shouldn't rush into anything yet, just try the friendship thing first, and enjoy each other company before getting back into a serious relationship again.

Yes, he still likes you. I would ask him back out because you said that he has been flying halfway round the world to see you. That means he cares about you a lot.

Be honest with him about your feeling. I have to same situation,too. It's very tough to be away from your loved one.You just don't get to see each other. Tell him how you feel and ask him how he feels also ask him if he's seeing someone else. If you have been away from each other for 15 months, he might have started a new relationship with someone else or have just been busy with work or school.

Yes, he has feelings for you. Let him know how YOU feel. No point in playing games. The guy is flying half way around the world to see you - could it be any more obvious?

just talk to him about going back out and see what he says and if he does then ask him out or wait for him to ask you out but you should tell him how you feel about him and see if he has the same feelings about you but most likely he does still love you if he says that you mean alot to him and if hes flying across the country just to see you

This sounds like me and my ex, and we are about to get back together now! Hang out with him and see how things go... does he act like he wants to get close to you or say anything romantic? If all else fails, ask him.

I feel you should weigh it out. There must be a reason you broke up with him. Sit down write out on one paper why you broke it off and on another paper write why you want him back. then follow your heart.

Why did you break up with him in the first place?
You will really need to ask yourself "Will I dump him again?"
If there's the possibility that you will, it's not fair on him, even if he does love you.
Staying friends is not such a bad thing.
Life is too short.
