Yes. I'm not sure when this country has specifically suppressed the name of God, although the separation of church and state is leading us there. Teachers really can't talk much about God in public schools, and it's become something that can be ridiculous. If someone has beliefs, there's nothing wrong with sharing them. There's a big difference between shoving something down someone's throat and sharing what one believes; a really big difference.

This is the kind of persecution Christianity gets. What's ironic is that others feel that mentioning God is persecuting their beliefs, when in reality pushing ideals like abortion and gay marriage is pushing their beliefs on us. It's also when schools pass out free condoms, and morning-after pills that we wonder what else they can do amidst people that can't even talk about God. It's time people reconsidered these attitudes, and I'm glad you've posed this question.

Everyone is free to mention god in a conversation. But in reality, it depends on the conversation - and the person with whom you are conversing. Sometimes it's just not appropriate. Or reasonable.

An example: I would not start promoting my own faith or the lack of it to another person, unless asked to do so. But if the other person would try to force his beliefs or the lack of them on me, I would certainly have something to say about the matter. And that may or may not include god as a topic. Capisce?

Who's stopping you? You have every might to mention God and someone else has every right to disagree with you. Sounds like you want to talk about your beliefs and not hear anyone's alternate point of view. Isn't that taking away from the other person's freedom of speech?

Well first of all why wouldn't you be able to mention God in a conversation.
Yes it would.
Here is the catch. It depends what the conversation is about. No you can't hide hate behind God and think you can freely do so.

I think you should be able to speak about God. I just don't think you should promote your beliefs in schools or shared nonreligious public places by required oaths, prayers, or displays. If you bring up the subject and are going to be offended when I say that I don't share your beliefs then perhaps we should agree to talk about other subjects. If you persisted in evangelizing me it would be an infringement on my right to my own beliefs after I asked you to stop or take it elsewhere. How would you like people asking you to pray to the great spaghetti monster or going on about how doomed you were for not believing in it after you expressed your disinterest in the topic? Or how about posting images of their spaghetti monster god in your public spaces?

Yes - because you are speaking, and to revoke someones right to speak, by default, would be taking away the right of Freedom of Speech.

Yes, it certainly does especially in the USA. We've been speaking about our Lord and putting His name on many documents from the beginning of this country.

Whoever removes the name of God from this country or annuls freedom of speech is a TRAITOR to this country.

NO, what about the people who don't believe there is ONE GOD

it could be offensive to them,

What about Muslims that call GOD ALLAH,
Should we insist we call him God or Allah?

What about NON believers, who just don't want to hear about god at all.

Should they have to be subjected to hearing about God, over and over and agree with US when we say its a miracle, or THANK God, or This is a Blessing from God

The business place is NOT for Christians Only,

FYI--- I am a Believer.
