God answers that question in the book of Genesis, just before the first sin is committed. He warns that the ultimate consequence for a sin is death. That may be a death in the physical, but it is always a death in the spiritual. It kills the relationship between God and that person.
Symptoms of that death may include guilt, a covering up of the sin, a breaking of relationship with others around them, an inability to control that sin, etc.
The solution is the confession of sin, which allows not only for its forgiveness, so that the relationship between God and man can be restored, but a cleansing so that the sin need never be repeated. (See I John 1:9)

Committing sin hurts you and those around you, both physically and spiritually. God didn't just make up rules arbitrarily, they are all for our benefit. It's just like your parents set boundaries for you when you were a child. You may not have understood them, maybe even resented them for it. But in the end, it was because they loved you and wanted the best for you.

Besides the ultimate price, which is the second death, it is written that the ways of a transgressor are hard. God will let you get "in a rut", and there you will stay. The great devourer will be allowed to consume all of your resources, and things will never get any better until you turn to God, and change your ways through Christ.

Depends on the sin. In many cases: contentment, satisfaction, a warm glow in the lower portions and a feeling of deep affection for another.

Fireball and Mr. Glass have it right. The wages of sin is death. Death meaning eternal separation from God which is a burning hell.

If one continues in sin, it would be a totally wrecked, wretched life when the glamor wears off which will happen eventually.

What goes around comes around.
I do not belive in the afterlife and not much in karma but if you treat people with hounor and integreity and do not steal cheat and lie perhaps those around you will be infulenced by your good example. In every instance that you sin you are teaching those around you that it is acceptable behaviour.
You reap what you sow.

If you do not ask God for forgiveness of your sin by accepting the sacrifice that Jesus gave, then the consequence is eternal separation from God.

In the eyes of god a sin is a sin, but in the eyes of man it would depend on the sin..
