I'll continue to watch if Gordon doesn't win the championship, but you're correct, the chase system will have screwed him.

a true NASCAR fan would watch either way. the chase does add excitment to a sport that was stunk up by Matt kenseth in 2003. I like the chase. It makes it meaningful and makes it fun. NASCAR is the only sport where the teams that don't make the playoffs still get to play. So no, as a true NASCAR fan i will never stop watching. For the record i am not a Gordon fan, but i see your point. All the drivers knew how the points system was going to work out before the year started so if he loses it all, its his own fault.

I'm not a fan of the format either, however Gordon knew what the format was at the beginning of the season. Right now Johnson appears to be the only real contender besides Gordon and he may not be having a year as good as Gordon's, but it's close.

The format has been changed now for a few years ya know? It isn't like they saw Jeff with his commanding lead and all the sudden changed it so he wouldn't win! What to do you want to see happen? I mean, say Jimmie wins the next four races and gets the title. Do you want them to take it away from Jimmie and give it back to Jeff to make it "fair"? All these drivers knew about the format going into the year, it wasn't like they left Jeff in the dark.

The only way that Gordon can lose the Championship is if he gets bad equipment or makes a serious driving error in the next four races, or if Jimmie Johnson continues to finish ahead of him. It isn't the format that will make him lose the champioship.
That being said, if he loses the championship, I will be so happy there's no telling when the party will end!

If Gordon loses the chase, it won't be because of the format.

The CHASE is inconsistant .The use of this system puts favortisum to certain teams .All teams deserve the chance to attempt the championship, the chase makes the 36 race schedule just a 10 race event.
Drop the chase, drop the free rides of the top 35 in points and stop provisionals.
The fastest 43 quailify and everybody races for the championship til the last race.

I am a strong supporter of the #24 car, but stronger NASCAR supporter..the hell with trinket sales, popularity, innuendos, just enjoy driving ability..and Gordon at the moment is tops..like to get interested in new drivers, not the evacuatees from F1 cars...Kyle Busch is a rare talent....just my thoughts

Not me!!!! If Jeff loses the Championship its not gonna be because of the new format. It will be because of something he does. Don't put the blame on Nascar if your driver blows it, put the blame on the driver and the team!!!!
