April Weather:

Average High: 60°F (16°C)
Average Low: 45°F (7°C)
April can be rainy, but the warmer temperatures make it more comfortable than March
there is an average of over 4 inches of precipitation in April
What to Wear:

pack an umbrella -- you'll be happy to have it when it starts to rain
a waterproof jacket or trenchcoat is recommended -- while umbrellas are helpful, nothing compares with a good raincoat
pack sweaters and long pants to wear -- it can be cool, particularly at night and when it's wet, it feels even colder
closed toe shoes, comfortable for walking and water-resistant if possible
April Perks:

warmer weather means outdoor activities are more inviting
Central Park's growing greenery is great to visit in April
the Easter Parade is a great chance to have an "only in New York" experience
April Cons:

rainy weather
the week of school break is a popular time for vacationing families and can be crowded

Weather will be nice, and when I went the best part of my week was taking the helicopter ride down the Hudson River, to the Statue of Liberty then back up the western verge of Manhattan. The heliport is based at 30th and 12th and its something like 100 bucks for a 10min ride.

Everyone's taste are different but here are a few of mine:

See YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN on Broadway
Eat at Carmine's on Time SQ (Portions are large. very large)
Eat at Angelo's in Little Italy
Go on top of the Empire State Building
Take a tour on Circle Tours (boat around Manhattan)
Go to Birdland (Jazz Cafe of historical significance)
Go downtown to The Blue Note (more Jazz or Rock)
On a Monday, go see Woody Allen play his clarinet at the Carlyle Hotel upper east side.

WX will be cool, maybe rainy and beautiful.

Watch people

Enjoy
