you really need to turn yourself in...given the fact that with all your emotional and physical problems i hope the army will go easy on you...you need to except that you did desert the army and no matter what the reasoning behind you leaving you did leave and any punishment that you get you deserved...hopefully you get some help and move on with your life...

At this point, you would be better off turning yourself in. They won't send you to Iraq because you are emotionally unstable. You will have to face the music about being AWOL, but frankly, your life is going nowhere until you do that anyway. You can probably get the medical help you need, some counseling, and you'll get a lawyer to help you with your legal problems.
In addition, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you faced one of your problems. This will help with the depression. Your stepfather won't have anything to hold over your head anymore either.
The source of your depression is feeling like you are stuck and "can't" face these problems, but you might find that facing them is going to be easier than where you are right now. So pick up the phone and turn yourself in.

I didnt realize you could just quit? Thats a new one on me. You went AWOL, you had the guts to leave, use those guts to go back. Youre gonna catch hell, but turning yourself in will be better than getting pulled over for a traffic ticket and ending up in the back of a cop car and being handled that way. Go to your old unit and go to the MP desk and tell them you went AWOL and when and all that other good stuff. I really dont feel sorry for you, you made your bed, now you gotta sleep in it.

There are no two ways about it: you are AWOL which means that when they do get you, you may very well end up in jail. It might be best if you contacted them first (talk to an army lawyer) and explained the circumstances. They might be more lenient if you go in first. But you will have to go back and clear up that situation: the more you wait, the worse it is likely to get.

Go to the nearest army post or recuiter and turn yourself in. Get that over with and get help for your depression. You have got to learn that the only person that will take care of you is you. Quit feeling sorry for yourself and get on with your life. Remember you are respondsible for your own actions and if someone tells you to do something against your wants, then it is your fault if you act on those suggestions.

Go back to your unit and face the music. You made a giant mistake and now you have to face the music. No matter what you do this is going to cause you problems now for the rest of your life. You have a good chance of ending up in jail, but its going to be better for you if you turn yourself in, you don't want them to have to come get you.

look go to your recruiter office and turn yourself in, take the hit and take the punishment, and go on about your life. you can't do that always looking over your shoulder. but just so you know going in, you should expect some type of punishment. you just can't go awol and not think it's not going to get rocky out your way. it might be a little rough or it could get real ugly. you made that choice and you have to remember that and own it. just go, go tomorrow morning and get it over with. then you can make a fresh start and it going to be hard, but you can fix your mistake and make it right.

If this is a real question, you have to underatand that you will never see your family again, that is if you go AWOL, I can't see a depressed person surviving well on their own, You have to stay away from family anf friends and anyone you knew from high school, thats the first place they look for you, you have to rely on the kindness of strangers, so unless you can do this, I wouldn't recommend going AWOL, or they will find you.

Go back to your unit in texas, that is the only thing for you to do. They have the authority to deal with you. Go now, since there is possibly a felony desertion warrant for your arrest.
If you dont believe me, thats fine, but i do work for an awol apprehension unit. Turn yourself into your unit and end it.

Report back into your old unit. Take the punishment. They will either get you the mental help you need or process you out of the Army. Either way you will not have to be looking over your shoulder any more.
