well its not really classed as B&B but travelodge do a thing where you can have a room for £15, ive used it and saved me a fortune.

Phone up and book a room. Then a few hours before phone and cancel. 10 minutes later phone for a room but plead having a budget lower that they are asking. Say you will take it and be there in an hour for the price you want to pay.

try youth hostels - they don't always do breakfast (although many provide facilities), but they do generally offer a cheap bed option
