Does anyone know which the best university in Australia is? To study something around education/psychology areas. Also, any advice to do with moving there from the UK?

All universities are great in Australia, it really just depends where you want to live.
Cairns is great to live and study - not as expensive as other cities.
James Cook University in Cairns is http://www.jcu.edu.au

hey
well congrats on choosing Australia! you will have a great time! I am Australian and lived in the UK for a year. The two countries are similar in lifestyle and culture. Obviously there are differences which make each one unique but essentially the same type of living standards etc.

Advice to moving from Australia. -
firstly check out the Australia.com site to get an idea of the country itself. Have an idea of what YOU want to see based upon photos, stories, movies, whatever. Remember Australia is HUGE so you have to plan around that too.
Primarily i would choose an east coast city - Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. Big university campus, great lifestyle, central campuses, cultural cities and great things are always going on in these cities (sorry to miss you out Perth, Adelaide, Hobart if anyone from there reads this).

In Brisbane you have University of Queensland (UQ) and Queensland University of TEchnology. I would look at UQ because the have a great reputation with the humanities and psychology. Whereas, i have friends who have done and raved about the education department at QUT. It is a very practical course and have great results!!

www.qut.edu.au

As for Sydney - check out univerity of sydney, they are supposed to have a great education and social sciences faculty too! www.edfac.usyd.edu.au

As for melbourne uni - not so sure
http://www.edfac.unimelb.edu.au/

Monash - has a massive education department - www.education.monash.edu.au

Visas for australia -
here are three sites for you to get started on your student visa

www.visabureau.com/australia/student-visa.aspx

best of luck!

You will have a great time wherever you plan to go!

Depends on what subject you are studying. Any agriculture courses, you would be better served by one of the bush colleges. Anything marine, then something in Queensland. Business, Sydney or ACT. Doctor, nurse, Melbourne. Business or graphics, then Adelaide. You could get a study visa, but I am unsure about what you mean with advise to do with moving there . Sorry

Type in: moving to Australia in Google and you will find many agencies that will help - I have been doing some research into the same areas and had some fantastic replies from agencies.
They will advise you exactly what type of visa etc.

we people up here in north queensland are crying out for proffessionals in health care , education and any related area that will ease the burden for remote areas of north , the far north and the west of queensland .
i would recommend james cook university
( jcu ) in both townsville and cairns --- and i might mention that both cities are lovely places to live and work in --- and seeing as you come from the uk --- you will never ever need an electric blanket ( or indeed any sort of blanket ) until your blood thins out (lol!)
but if you also want to experience some of the most beautiful habitats ; such as the great barrier reef , rainforests , flora and fauna as you have never seen before --- these are the places for you --- remember townsville and cairns in north and far north queensland --- and if you have any aspiring doctor and nurse friends --- bring them with you .!!
good luck whever you choose .
