Alphabet used in all European and Arabic/ Hebrew are Semitic origin. It goes beyond but minimum we can find upto Pharaoh's of Egypt. Mainly the sound used more is coming first and used less is coming after. It was done intentionally or by chance but this the fact. This fact goes to orginal language but new languages have some times fact changed but arrangement remained same. As it was already fixed.

I think A was the start since the creator of the alphabet started his name with an A.

you should ask the one who created alphabets which you have to track back thousand of years ago

It goes back thousands of years and is quite complex. Trouble is, I still end up asking "Why did the Phoenicians have a particular letter order?"
