Many do. But I & my husband don't. We actually read & study our Bible. Then we discuss things that seem to point to something different. We both love science & history as well. Often we've even changed or tweaked our beliefs with the more we learn. Some truth is hard to accept but it doesn't make it any less true. So there comes a time you have to accept what is. Doubt is not the opposite of faith. It's what spurs you on to find the particulars. Anyone who says they don't have any doubts is only lying to themselves. We all do. Maybe no doubts in God existing or our salvation. But in the other particulars.
I have long said if your faith can't be challenged then it's little more than tradition. How can your faith grow if never challenged?

I take it that you mean people in any denomination, sect or cult. Critical thinking skills are vital for any person to function as a rational and logical human being. Most people take their belief system for granted, never questioning where that belief came from in the first place. They either blindly accept it or ignorantly ignore it. Even Christians are told in the New Testament to 'prove all things'. In other words, you are told to use your critical thinking skills to make sure that what you are being told is the truth.

Some people do. Because not all religious people believe in the true Christian faith. An account from Acts 17:23 says that the people of Athens were religious but they worship an UNKNOWN GOD. And because they know nothing about the one they worship, they were needed to be taught by Saint Paul of the doctrine they neglected.

I cannot say for other religions but as for Christian I think that most people take their faith for granted. They know all that God has done for them. They know that he seeks a personnal relationship with his people but we do not give him the time of day to develop it. A true Christian neither "accepts his faith without question" nor does he "critical analysis" his faith. The connection that they have with God is greater than that. As it was once told to me and I am retelling it to you, "I know that I know what I know that I know and that is all that I know!" His spirit lives with in me and guides and directs me. How do I know? I just know!!

I think most Christians do because most do not understandd what it is all about. They just believe because that is what they have been told they should all their life. Not being mean here just stating fact. Granted there are devout Christians who study the bible and diligently try to understand it but even then it is to understand their church doctrine, not the bible. They read it to prove their doctrine.
Pagans on the other hand are different in that we choose our religion thoughtfully and learn all we can and we even have to work hard sometimes since paganism is oftentimes underground so the teachers and groups who believe our way are hard to find.
So we do not take our religion for granted.

Many believe that if their religion is challenged, then their 'prophets' were vindicated even more. because, you know, they said it woul dbe challenged.
That is known as a perfect clause. Circular logic at it's finest.
Example:
Listen, the 'Alligator Lizards In The Air' who created us will come down and give us all cake if we are good and worship them and don't eat the meat of four legged creatures, subjugate wives, and love gays but hate gayness. OK?
After death, if we are good, we will *bask* with them in eternal joy. They also said that people on earth would ridicule me for believing in them. Guess what?...they were RIGHT! HAIL ALLIGATOR LIZARDS IN THE AIR!!! I am a PROPHET!!!!

I am not religious person, I just love my Lord and I keep it simple. I have questioned Him a lot and His Word, and He revealed Himself to me when I was seeking Him with all of my heart.
