The reason He was so mean in the Old Testament was because the Jews would test Him, complain about the manna (a miracle) from heaven. Moses tried to get the people on track after talking to the Father God. When he came down from the Holy Mountain, Moses found the people had made statues and were worshiping them. If you read Psalms and Proverbs, you will see that God is a loving God but the people were stiff necked and didn't listen to Him or the prophets. The Jews traveled 40 years in the desert and most of the old people died before getting to the Promised Land. God was always forgiving them but would get angry with some of the stuff the Jews did, like not listening to the Prophets in those times. When Jesus was born, that ushered in the time for forgiveness, love, etc. But even Jesus would become angry with some of the people of His time. Remember that God is a jealous God. Pray well every day.

Let's ask this:
If a person goes and purposely murders someone for no reason, should that get caught, tried, and found guilty, what penalty should that person get?

There are only a few instances that God has killed people; the great flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, and the Egyptians crossing the Red Sea. Most of the time, God has given instruction to leaders and prophets on how to conduct justice. Mostly, many of the sins were subject to death, especially murder. If one can understand that this body of ours is but a vessel that holds a spirit that is immortal and everlasting, then death would not be feared except for those that have no faith or belief in God. We need to begin to understand why our brave U.S. military personnel know that death can creep upon them at any second, but they are willing to confront and many, if not all are ready and accepting. Dying for a noble cause is honorable and what these young men and women are doing is honorable. This ignorance about the cruelty of God in the Old Testament are said by those that fear the inevitable, death. Do I fear God's judgment? Yes. Why? Because I am a sinner and I don't want to leave this world a sinner. God knows what is in my heart. He knows what is in your heart. I feel a bit more at ease with death and that leaving this mortal coil is painless.

I don't know what you are asking but I will say this. God loved man so much that he made them perfect. then he gave them a beautiful garden. then man was the one that slapped God in the face with choosing woman over God.
Its not the woman's fault that Adam and Eve got kicked out of the garden and then lost there perfect static. But man. Adam could have chosen God and then God would have given him even a better woman then Eve. But he did not. So then started the fight between God and Satan with us in the middle.
By Adams actions he started a war that would have stopped along time ago.

I think the problem is that we rely too much on the myths and fables called Bible stories! Thus many of them will not make sense. To my mind, why God would choose to reveal the truth only to some religious and political middlemen instead of to everybody is perhaps one of those mysterious, wondrous ways God works. But even if God does hand down to a few choice authorities truths about how you should live, how do you know which authorities are the genuine ones? God doesn't extend a hand from the sky and point them out to you. It is conveniently left to the authorities themselves to enlighten you about who the proper authorities are.

Its a product of the times in which it was written and the mentalities of those who wrote it. Humans progressed a bit between the Old and New Testaments. Still the NT allows slavery and God still demands the blood sacrifice of his son (or himself depending on what branch of Christianity you subscribe to) in order to forgive humans for being what he created. I think its all human stories some which teach lessons still relevant and many not so much.

..he has killed also the men..who were drinking to much and were against their family..He split the earth and the earth swallow the men who has spoken against him..

men had to be as pure as the women..but they took a habit from the people who worshiped the idols of the demons,- to have more wives..

even for this ..they have been punished..not only for working on sunday..or burning their sons to idols..

even nowadays the men are bad..and speak against God..they say that only the women must be pure - virgin- , that they could sleep with as many women as they wish! WRONG.!they are very punished by God for this..If the man woulld be allowed to sleep with many women..while the woman must be virgin..then which would be the meaning and the sense of and the use and the value of her virginity..if she sleep with a so dirty man..

The only way you can arrive at this conclusion is to select certain verses, take them out of their context and present them in a negative light.

Abraham was a stubborn monogamist--he set the example for men in how to treat their wives.

Rahab the hooker was raised to hero status in Hebrews as a woman of faith.

Ruth had an entire book dedicated to her. If the Bible was "anti-woman", would she have been forgotten?

The story of Deborah made Deborah greater than the current Judge of Israel.

How doe these stories wreck your theory?

Place your hand in the palm of Truth, and allow His exalted wisdom to guide you.

Through this thoroughfare of life, there have been many journeys, and insurmountable odds, had mankind not been favored by the Chosen ones of God. In all the brambles, and snares, no-one has sought the truth except to find the Almighty standing before them face to Face.

In all this confusion there's seen a myriad wisdoms contradicted by the actions of men, and folly of the innocent, deprived of this luminous knowledge, but you have been given the key to unlock the narrow Gate, and find the love of God which surmounts all odds.

Let not this wisdom become the diatribe of ignorant souls bereft of the Beauty of the Beloved. For in all things God loves, and has given place, and perfection. No fault canst thou see in the Law of God, for by it all the Prophets educated mankind to its summits.

Today the High mountains are God's, and the low valleys seen as a place of unity, and fellowship, among the learned, and ignorant, with equal fever. God bless this high, and Holy mountain of the Lord, for in it all nations shall be blessed, and all mankind as one, men and women as equals, as attested by God's Holy One(s) from now, and from all eternity.

Men's sovereignty flourished during the age of darkness that categorized all the missions the Prophets came to enlighten, renewed, and made brilliant. Be not surprised then, at the hours of darkness men took their place by force, and denied women their equal sovereignty. This is incumbent on the animals of nature which have forgotten their Lord, and Savior, whom from everlasting has come again, and again, and saved the world, only to be forgotten each Night, But from This brilliant and glorious Day forward, the Day shall not be followed by night as attested by the Spirit of the Lord in the Holy testaments.

Know that the Lord has come in Power ,and Sovereignty, and has given women their crown of Glory [Bahà] that will not fade in its splendor. In this Day of the Most High God, the Lord God of Jacob and Israel, came into the flesh by the effulgent potency of His transcendent Spirit, which encompasses and over powers all things.

Baha'u'llah [Glory of God] has Come again, Christ's Promise has been fulfilled. Unto the ends of the earth goes the message, the heat of His love has warmed the world where His light has been shown by Jesus. No doubt is there to this Day, upon it be Glory and Sovereignty forever. The Glory of the Lord's house has been established on mount Carmel, as foretold of old, be then wise and partake of its Beauty which never dies.

Let this be a guide unto you who have eyes to see and ears to hear the sweet melodies of his illustrious Word of Song, the Word of Glory, Bahà. The Bible which has been altered by "dishonest scribes" (Jeremiah 8:8), can in no wise save you if you do not hearken to this call of the Mystic Nightingale, singing in the rose garden of the Spirit.

It is the Song of that heavenly Bird of Mystic Meaning and Love.

Alalah'u'Abha [God is all Glorious], the Promised One of all ages is come in the fullness of His magnitude, where-on the inmost dwellers of the all highest paradise have uttered this praise: "Enter thou this Threshold, and behold what no mortal eye or ken has known."

Upon Him rest Glory and Power forever, whose tongue hath uttered what no man hath heard. Amen.

God bless.
