Winter brides (for those who live where there is actually snow during winter)...what kind of shoes will you be wearing? Are any of you wearing some kind of boot under your gown? If so, do you have any pictures or links?

Thanks and good luck to all winter brides!

You don't have to wear boots- just a classy closed toe or peek a boo shoe that doesn't have a thin heel. Really how much time will you be spending outside? Most churches/receptions plow the walk way and salt it really well so you won't ruin the bottom of your dress. Here are a few cute shoes I found for you to consider:

i know they are red in that link but they come in white and ivory as well

All the winter brides I know have worn their regular boots outside and carried their shoes along with them. That way you can wear whatever shoes you like and not ruin them in the snow.

But they wouldn't let anyone take their picture in boots.

Buy a closed satin shoe. If it snows, get a short waterproof boot in white and wear that to the church. When you get inside the vestibule of the church, change into your dressy shoes.. eweddingshoes.com for white boots, try Zappos.com

You could follow either of the advice of either poster above. I would probably go with a closed toe pump, and if I was going to be in the snow - I would not waear them out at all - I would have outside boots & change at the church. Good luck to you!

Heres some ideas for shoes,
http://www.bootbay.com/bootbay/product.asp?path=Search&path=wedding&search_handle=A%3dwedding%7eB%3dwedding%7eD%3d33%7eK%3d4%7eL%3d1%7eM%3d2%7e&scid=SearchResults&pf_id=PAAAIAMBLPILDPEL&spoffset=2&s_id=0 these are boots, they are a little expenisve but the bottom looks like a regular heel, so if anyone sneaks a peek they will just think you have white stockings on.

If you would prefer a nice pair of dressy shoes try finding something like this in a white

I think that a wider heel and shorter heel will help you keep balance in case of snow or any other unpredictable weather....

Congrats and good luck, I couldn't do it, all winter im freezing haha
