God has no expectation and he exhorts people do their duties the same way .He is free fromanyexpectation and inspires us to e so.
See the words of Lord krsihna in Bhagavad -gita quoted below:
"In the three worlds ,
there is nothing :I must do
nothing unattained to be attained
yet I engage in action." 22of 3.
"Whatever a leader does ,
the ordinary people also do,
He sets the standard
for theworld to follow.".... 21 of 3
"what if did not engage
relentalessly in action?
men retrace my path
at every turn, Arjuna .. 23 of 3.
" These worlds woud collapse
if I did not perform action;
I woud cree disorder in society,
living beings would be destroyed. 34 of 3.
God expects us to follow the path he has set for us and perform our duties as a sacrifice with detachment to the fruits of action . He is doing his duty relentlessly without any expectation as an inspiration to us

Revered AUM, humble obeisances! I would like to answer with the help of Shreemad Bhagavad Gita. "Mayyeva mana Adhatsva, mayi buddhim niveshaya" "manmanA bhava madbhakto, madyaji mAm namaskuru" and "nimitta matram bhava savyasAchin". The God expects mind and intellect of devotee to be surrendered in Him, i.e. don't let mind wander here and there except His thoughts, take every decision keeping in view His opinion/hints on the subject matter(our decisions should be so perfect that as if they are decision of the God). While saluting anybody, any other deity, think that one is saluting Him, one is worshipping Him. The God does every activity by residing in the body of individual and every one has to become an instrument in His hand as actual doer is He only. The God expects instrumental devotion from every devotee.

Both are meant for our well being. If you carry a grudge over someone and hold that in your heart and soul over time it'll begin to eat away at you and make you a bitter person everytime someone does you wrong and you don't forgive them and of course people don't want to be remembered as that one bitter dude or lady. For God, if He forgave us as soon as we sinned this would NOT benefit us, we would have no real reason to strive to do good because we'd all have a free pass into His kingdom even if we are the most rotten Human Being to ever walk to face of the planet. We would never learn that we need to be good not just for an "eternal reward" but also for the sake of the people around us and the people of the future. It is for us not for Him well technically it's for Him too because in the end if we follow Him we'll be happy and our happiness and obedience brings Him joy.

God would expect we should stop kvetching about who he is and what the Bible says and maybe do a little work around this place. This is your world, not a pig sty. I gave you this world, would it hurt you so much to show a little respect and gratitude and maybe clean it up once in a while? And what about these poor people over here. What are you trying to do to them? Would you treat your mother this way? Oy gevalt! Leave them alone and go to your room until you learn how to behave.

I firmly believe that some sort of energy is behind the formation, existence, growth and functioning of of lifeforms on this planet Earth, and this innate Universe. That Ultimate Superpower is conceived as God, Ishwar, Parameshwar, Allah, Nature and the like. That Superpower is energy and not an Individual, who can be pleased or not pleased by worship or no worship. That Superpower does not expect anything from you.

God expects us to know Him and thus be happy. Our blaming God for our miseries, without actually understanding Him, is the height of ignorance that can shadow us.
Yes we can blame God, but only after we have understood who He is! Probably we then will have nothing to blame Him for, but everything to hail Him for.
Let us get on with the task, that we have on hand. We need to understand God. He expects us to do that!

My dear Aum,
This whole world is a playground created by GOD. HE had given you a ball called freewill and enjoys by watching how you are playing the game.You play well or not HE never bothers, but you know unless you play well, you won't get a chance again. So you think GOD expects something from you.

"He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the LORD require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?"
- Micha 6:8
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

I am sure God expects me to progress spiritually by learning from my current experiences, overcoming my bad tendencies and reaching out to be a better person. I am trying, it is not easy, I need Him around, I need His advice, His insight. I am doing my best!
Peace!
