To find the answer to this question, pay a visit to your local church on Sunday morning. Count the sheep as they enter and leave the building. This will illustrate how dumb animals are easily fooled.

In the wild they are not dumb; but several thousand years of domestication has produced a beast only marginally more intelligent than a domesticated turnip.
All domesticated animal are the same and people lack respect for any of them. Each one's name is used as an epithet.

There are three levels of intelligence for sheep. It's sort of like a sheep IQ. The average sheep can only say "baa" and "baa baa." The most intelligent can say "baa" and "baa humbug."
The moronic of the list dress up for church and say all kinds of things, like "Amen" and "I'm not worthy" and "The Lord is my Shepard," but it hasn't an ounce of ability to think critically and it's degree of honesty is extremely questionable.

Oh Good Shepherd, fleece my sheep!

Sheep are herd animals and that's what makes them stupid. Individually, they behave with more sound judgement.
