If you sign up for the military, you are agreeing to obey all lawful orders given to you by superiors. These lawful orders may involve killing people - even if you're in an ordinarily non-combat position.
Many times in war, the situation has gotten desperate enough that the officers have had to arm all of the non-combat troops who were in a particular area and send them to the front lines to fight alongside the remaining combat troops. It's for this very reason that all soldiers are taught the basics of fighting - even if it's anticipated that they'll spend the duration of their enlistment in a non-combat job.
What you will do if you are asked to shoot at another human being is a very important question that you need to answer before signing up for the military. If you cannot answer the question or you decide that you cannot obey an order to shoot at others, you're probably best off not enlisting.
Good luck!

There's not enough space to list all the jobs in the military that aren't combat related. Plus, you're female and wouldn't be in a combat specialty anyway.
Look up the info on the Army's websites. Don't listen to the YA wannabes that get their info off TV or in comic books.

No.
You can be a medic. They have a different catagory under the Geneva Convention, if that means anything.
Also, you can be a Chaplain's Assistant. You help the military chaplains get ready for services, you help them take care of people, etc, etc. In that job, however, you carry a side-arm in a combat area as personal protection, but that's it. I am not sure, but that may be able to be waived.
People who think that all the military does is kill people is so misguided that they are simply beyond reasoning with and can only accept that they are wrong if they see it first-hand.

First, there are no front lines in Iraq of Aghanistan. Second, there are many positions that will not put you in a direct combat enviornment. If you were an MP, than the possibility of you doing a combat patrol are more likely. I am an MP and had 2 female soldiers in my squad, both were straight up stone cold killers when it came to their job. Not saying all females are up for it, but its not impossible. As i said though, there are many jobs available that are not combat related.
Don't listen to slimthic either, sounds like bs to me.

Look Vane you as a female most proablilty will not have to kill while in service but it would not be a garuntee and if the time comes where you have to defend yourself and your fellow soldiers then you would have to fight back and possiably kill. There are women that go outside the fob and in doing so are put in harms way and those women must be prepared to what is nesseray or they are a danger to themselves and all aroud them.

Nope. Army also needs people in the office to do the paper work, or in the medical facilities to take care of the wounded.

HAVE to? No. But if you were to find yourself in a combat situation if it's them or you, you won't ask this question.
If you cannot accept this, then, the Army isn't for you.

as a female, not at this time. there are a couple of fem fighter jet pilots that might enter combat, but your involvement (in combat) is unlikely.
that's in america. if you're talking israeli army, different story.
