No. It's not a 'real' problem. It's a philosophical problem. Atheists can be as dedicated to their beliefs as any Christian. Unfortunately, Christians believe theirs is the only path to salvation and also believe it is their moral duty to save as many others as they can. This really annoys atheists since their decision usually comes after some deep soul-searching of their own. Atheists feel that Christians, that inevitably and constantly try to convert them, disrepect their rational decisions to be atheists. Christians don't understand this due to the irrationality of their beliefs, i.e. 'Faith.' The only faith I can think of that would have a greater problem with atheists would be Muslims, but they probably just kill their atheists.

no, im an atheist and i have a problem with atheism! =D
im an atheist and i dont really like the fact that we even need a name for our disbelief in something....kinda leads to grouping, and let me tell you, though there are some fantastic atheists, there are a lot of bozo's out there too, and i want nothing to associate me with them. you know what i mean? besides there is no name for people that do not believe in elves.

Its to my knowledge that an atheist claims to not believe in any God or any being larger than ourselves. As a Christian, I believe Its just a choice to have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and to believe in him. My life would be pretty empty if I did not have some peace in my heart to know that I am loved so dearly to be put on this earth and to not fear death as I will be able to serve the Lord in Heaven for eternity. Just as I choose to believe this, I also choose to share that belief with anyone willing to listen. I would hope any atheist out there would at least be curious enough to ask questions and maybe read the Holy Bible to see for themselves whether or not they can disprove that God exists.

I am actually a non-denominal religious person, not Christian, buddhist, anything, and I have a real problem with atheists.

I think it's narrow minded to neglect spirituality, despite many of them being very intelligent. Also, spirituality does not always necesarily mean God.

First, let me thank you for the generalization.

Second, I would have to say that most of us (Christians) don't have a problem with atheist's or atheism.

As a matter of fact I find the evangelical atheist's especially amusing. Especially when they illustrate their self professed higher intellect with questions like "If God is all powerful can He make a pizza so hot that He Himself cannot eat it?". Or when they feel the need to tell Christians what it is that we believe/don't believe in as Christians.

Hell, if it wasn't for the evangelical atheist's on here I never would have known that as a Christian I apparently believe the world is both flat and 6,000 years old, that I'm afraid of science, don't believe in dinosaurs or evolution, or (my personal favorite) want a theocracy.

So, why should I as a Christian have any sort of problem with people who obsess over something that they claim to have no belief in as much as the evangelical atheist's on here do?

No, but they have the biggest problem with it.

That whole "Pascal's Wager" thing, you know. Christianity is the only religion that believes that this life is our only chance to avoid eternal damnation.

No thye don't have a problem with Atheism it is Atheism that has a problem with Christains and what they believe. So to is the fact that many other religions have a problem with Christains. Most Christains I know get on with their life and i find they are often attacked for what they believe and not the other way arround.
