It's absurd! The most you can do is slow it down so we won't burn to death......agree?

We're not going to burn to death. Global warming is just a natural cycle as the Earth is never constant.

Soon the Sun is going to start cooling off and the Earth will cool down as well.

Enjoy the warmth while it's here. It won't be around for ever.

There are actually ways and means that it can be stopped. The problem is that no-one wants to go ahead with any of these schemes until they've been fully tested and evaluated. Making a mistake when messing with the climate is something no-one can afford to get wrong. Some of the schemes that have been suggested would work but are phenomenally expensive, others are beyond our current technical capabilities. But there are some that are relatively cheap and simple.

Basically, global warming is caused by two things - heat from the sun and greenhouse gases. If either can be reduced then global warming can be slowed, stopped or even reversed. There are schemes looking at both although it's the ones geared toward removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere that appear to be in the lead at the moment.

As individuals however, we can't stop global warming and you're right that all we can do is to slow it down.

"You people?" And what species might you be, darling?

Slow down global warming? A very good chance, certainly. Reverse the impacts? The job is harder, no doubt, but look at all that mankind has achieved in the last century alone. Automobiles. Airplanes. Space travel. The irony is that although all of those things are in some way part of the problem, they can also be part of the solution.

Ye have little faith. I always go for the "Make it so!" line of thinking, since it tends to produce better results.

Agree and you just hit the point my sweety!

All we can do now is conserve the resources that we have and hope that it will last till the time that we have the technology to cultivate any of our neighboring planets for human habitation.

Our growing population is the primary reason for environmental climate change or Global Warming. We should all stop hugging each other to prevent anymore warming and population growth (Ha-ha-ha!, just kidding but it is true that the human population growth is the primary reason for global warming)

We as society can reduce the level of global worming.
We can change our life style .we all offer our commitment that we will reduce the level of Carbon dioxide and avoid the use of gases which harm our Ozone layer and also control the population growth specially in Asia and use ecofriendly products.

Earth is a closed system so when we run out of resources, that's it we're screwed. When humankind is wiped off the earth, mother nature will revert everything back to what it was and give birth to a more mature species that is not capable of over-indulgence.

No. And as to what makes me think global warming can be stopped?

Science. Facts. Evidence.

Some people seem to get off on claiming we are helpless. maybe they are. I'm not.

Sure. But slowing it down so that we can cope with the remaining effects is vital.

Here's the practical and affordable plan, worked out by hundreds of scientists and economists from all over the world.
