Catholics are Christians. The definition of Christian is someone who believes that Christ is the only begotten Son of God, and that He died to pay the blood price for all of us imperfect human beings. Nearly every Protestant Church in existence today still pays homage to the Catholic Church by keeping the day they set aside as the day of worship, Sunday. Martin Luther and many other Catholics discovered scriptural Truth and were forced out of that Church as heretics. The Reformation demanded a breaking away, but it turned into so many factions because the Church at large could not agree to accept scriptural Truth because it interfered with the comforts of tradition. Yet the rest of the Protestants still keep many of those traditions.

It is dependent upon the Protestant Church. If the Church is denying the Sacraments I could return to Rome. In Traditional Protestantism the Church isn't just a pleasant accumulating of believers who suppose they are able to interpret the Bible how they see have compatibility. The Church is at any place the gospel is preached and the sacraments rightly administered. In truth the Lutheran confessions use Patristic aid greater than the Bible in a few areas. If the Church is rejecting the sacraments, I could run again to Rome. The Traditional Protestants instruct in opposition to Private interpretation of scripture. The change among us and Rome is that we don't consider it fundamental to be beneath the Papacy. We don't consider the Roman Catholic Church is THE Christian Church however A Christian Church. The equal factor applies to the Orthodox. The R.C.C. accepts the truth that Protestants is also stored, however to them you're best confident of your salvation beneath the Papacy. I'm confident of my salvation without or with the Pope.

Christian Church does not because the Bible says " There is one mediator between God and Man and that is Jesus Christ".

Catholic Church believes the Pope is the Ultimate source of God's will
Christians believe the Bible is the ultimate source of God's will.

Christians believe ONLY Jesus was Holy (on this earth)

Catholics believe priests and the pope can forgive sins.
Christians believe only God can forgive sins.

Catholics believe in a punishing God.
Christians believe in a loving and forgiving God.

Catholics claim to be Christian but do not follow the Bible, they follow the Pope.
Christians claim to be Christian and try to follow the Bible.(although many sub-divisions of Christianity have been misled by the catholic church, which most of them broke away from once they were given the option to read the Bible for themselves.)

There are many more examples, but it would take a LONG time to fill them all in. These are the most glaring differences.

Catholics are Christian.
There are MANY types of Christians. Catholic, Orthodox (Greek, Russian, Egyptian, etc.) Baptist, Methodist, Episcopal, Dutch Reformed, Presbyterian, Lutheran, UCC, MCC, Mormon (LDS), Seventh Day Adventist, Chrch of Christ, Christian Scientist, Pentacostal and more. Many of these have divisions within them.

The basic thing that defines Catholic teaching is their understanding that Christ set up a church with a specific leader, that being Peter. They believe that the office of Pope maintains that authority Catholics also believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, and the system of sacraments.

Roman Catholics have a chance of being Christian. THEY AREN'T IN MANY CASES!

I talk to many people, some are Roman Catholics. And the message of the Gospel offends them so much that they could not be Christian. Case in point my Dad. He was not practicing though, so I can let that go ( He is Christian now! ) . But most other Roman Catholics, especially those who are faithful about the traditions of the church, find the Gospel message totally offensive. And it makes me so angry that the Roman Catholic Churches that they attend are so Satanic!

They have so many people to come Sunday after Sunday, praying to saints, and believing that all you have to be is GOOD and God will like you. That's from them, NOT ME!

GRRRRRR!!!!!!!

"What separates us as believers in Christ is much less than what unites us." (Pope John XXIII)

Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians.

Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):

By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.

There are many minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, I believe, do not matter that much.

A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of His new Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.

With love in Christ.

Well that's a problem because, you see, Catholics ARE CHRISTIANS!!! They were the FIRST Christians. So, there are no differences between the Catholic Church and the Christian Church because IT IS a Christian Church.

I knew there was a reason that my son liked Geiko. ;)
