Also does anyone know any other airlines that hire flight attendants at the age of 18+ or 20+ besides airtran? Im for sure that you have to be 21+ for delta. If you have any advice please let me know. My next off day from work is tuesday and I plan on really trying to make some kind of progress!

http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos171.htm - here's a government site with information about being a flight attendant. Work conditions, requirements, etc.

You can be 18 and work as a flight attendant as long as the employers allows it. I would check the major companies websites and see what the requirements are. You may end up having to wait until you are 21, but if you truly want the position, then go for it!

If you do end up having to wait, I would suggest that you talk to someone who is currently working as a flight attendant and find out as much information about the job, training and qualifications the airlines are looking for in an applicant. I know that the field is very competitive, so you will be looking for a way to "stand out" and impress your interviewers. Many times, in my area, interviews are held "group style", which results in a large number of applicants all at once.

Some suggestions to make you stand out are taking some basic first aid/CPR and/or communication classes such as verbal judo. In the mean time, securing a customer service job, possibly in retail or restaurant/hospitality would also look good. It will show that you work well with people. If you volunteer, list that in experience as well. You will most likely be up against people who have more job experience than what you do, since you are young. Make a good impression. Dress the part and look professional when you get to your interview! Good luck!

contact the employment offices of each airline directly and ask for their qualifications. Since many serve liquor in flight, they may have an age minimum of 21. ASK and you shall find out. Good luck to you. My older sister worked for TWA for many years before they went under.

flight attendants serve alcohale and you must be 21 in the US to do this. That is why they only hire 21 and over. Stupid US law anyway.

Go to job fairs and expos. They can meet you there and you can sell yourself easier that way.

Here is a link for flight attendants.
