Totally false premise.
Acts 17:, 27 for them to seek God, if they might grope for him and really find him, although, in fact, he is not far off from each one of us.

It does sometimes feel like God is far away from us. I have felt that way at times and I think I can sympathize with where you are coming from. But I believe he is actually very close and very aware of what is going on with each on of us. He gave his son, his word, and he answers many prayers.
In all honesty sometimes I wish God did not seem so hidden. But it is his world and his way, I just tag along for the ride. In the scriptures he says he is near. Philippians 4:5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your request to God. I appreciate the way you asked sincerely. Sometimes I feel people ask things just to try to start an argument. Good luck

If I punch you in the face, and then say, "this is not an attack," the punch will not feel any better.
I'm atheist, but this question is destined for upsetting Christians and making you seem ignorant.
I don't think you are, you make a valid point. God, in general, does not think about the consequences of his actions. He lets His religion get way out of control, lets innocent people die and evil people live, etc. If He was all that the Christians say He is (that is, if he existed,) many more people would be Christian.

Jesus, who is God says, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." (Luke 11:9-10)
Apparently you haven't asked. The thing that you may not understand is that God is always with His children. Now, to become God's child, one must accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and their Savior. God doesn't bother those who are not His children but, He does intervene in the lives of those who ask Him to.

God has not abondoned his children, He is always with us. He is as near as your next breath or as far away as you push Him. For those who believe and follow Him, He has promised that "He will never leave us or forsake us." He lives in our hearts. He can't get much closer than that.
Why do you think He has abondoned us?

I forgot this one verse but it says something like Seek and you will find. God gives us the free will to seek him if we want. That is why you see so many unbelievers in the world.

No. And I am glad that God didn't either. Thanks for asking.
It's just me and the Holy Spirit here.
'Who' you say? Didn't you ever read the end of John 15?
