Most likely not. There's an unofficial grace for speed, but the limit is absolute. You are breaking the law for anything over the posted limit.

LOL. Depends on the cop.
My mom was pulled over for going 2 miles over the speed limit once.
She was all pissed off, and I couldn't stop laughing. The cop said it wasn't funny, but I kept a smile on my face.
She didn't get a ticket though.

Really depends on where you are. In my town the cops give you a 5-10 mile cushion, but in the very next town over, they will give you a ticket for going 26 in a 25 mile zone.

It has been my experience that Judges don't want to see you in court unless you were clocked at least 10 miles per hour over the limit. Many reasons for this. Radar calibration can be challenged. Vehicle speedometers are not precise and can be off as much as plus or minus 5mph. I don't know of anyone who ever got a speeding ticket for doing 64 in a 55 zone.......just be careful of School zones.

Some years ago I was running traffic radar in a school zone. Some dweeb came through the zone and was actually 3 mph over the limit. I wasn't going to pull him over; but he suddenly realized what I was doing and what he was doing. He must have stomped his brake pedal through the car's floorboard. He stopped dead in the middle of the street, forcing several vehicles behind him to come to abrupt stops.
I wrote him a Careless Driving ticket. Not for speeding, not so much for the stupid stop, but for the car phone in his ear and the super sized soda pop in his other hand.

depends. If you're driving a nice late model car, say a BMW or Mercedes, you'll probably get ticketed. The cop figures most folks driving nice cars will just pay the ticket, and not bother to fight it. Besides, why risk a confrontation pulling over a gang-banger?

I, in all my 40 years of driving, have never been stopped by a policeman when I was going 3mph over the speed limit, even in a school zone, but I wouldn't push my luck in a school zone if I were you. Or even if I were me. Oh, I am me. Well, don't push your luck in a school zone. God Bless you.

Where I live, no. However, there are little towns all around me in which their policy is 'zero tolerance'. In these towns, they will stop you if you are one mile over, or even if they believe you look 'suspicious'. As a result, people there tend to 'toe the mark' a little closer... and their crime rate is far below average. Personally, though, I've never been stopped that I wasn't at least ten over. Guess I've been lucky.

Are you driving a beat up Olds Cutlass with tinted windows, 22 inch rims that cost more than the car, and blaring rap music? If you answered yes, then yes you will be stopped.
On the other hand, if you are a soccer mom driving the brand new minivan with your golden retriever riding shotgun, no you won't be stopped.

It would be legal for them to stop you if they wanted to. But they generally don't bother unless you're 5 mph over the limit. But technically, the limit is the limit, so if they pull you over you can't do anything.
