One easy way to do it is just to require that anyone sending money out of the country show government issued ID that they are a citizen or legal resident.
Will it work? Not realy. It will just make more money transfer go underground and the transactions costs will go from 1-2% to maybe 5-10%. Illegals will have a more difficult time sending money home and they will send out less so it will make it hard for them and their families.
Also bad is that it will turn more money transfer into money laundery and probably encourage washing drug money. It will certainly make police have less time to track and go after real criminals like drug dealers and terrorists.
That's what I think would happpen. What do you think?

bay the fact is that even if the govt trys to scare citizens from sending out money for illegals it will still be done just with more hassle ..
And I think it is really about the govt pretending to do something and making it an excuse to give us all less freedom.

I don't think that will work, because illegals knows legals and will work together and help each other out. I don't know any illegals and I was born and raised in the U.S. for more than 20 years and still own part of a home in Mexico and own a home in the United States. And if I were to send money to Mexico to some family that stays in a home that was bought by my grandparents i would just bring cash. Or take money out of the bank when I'm in Mexico. And since illegals can have bank accounts in the united states i think .....
they could do the same without the help of someone who is legal. Another thing they do is take old cars full of old stuff Americans don't want plus their cash since they don't i.d. you to go to Mexico. The only problem is some actually get robbed of everything or just their cash when they navigate through Mexico to bring back the pennies they earned and old junk no one wants in the united states.

There is no way now to know for certain if all these illegals and legals that are working for different companies have been sending the tax and Social Security monies collected into the different agencies in the persons name. You're concern about money going out of this country, look around at the immigrants and how they do business, no credit cards, pay in big bills because they don't have bank accounts. You would have a hard time tracing where their money is going and for what. There are alot of ways that would cover this page of how people are and can get away with sending money out of the United States. One thing you have forgotten is our own Government sends alot of money each month out of this country in the name of Social Security. That is money that yes the people work for, but it was made in the United States, should remain with in the States. We are expected to send money out of our country and still support both legal and illegals that have no means to support and take care of themselves.

Little to say , i do not work anymore ...!! TC International works with all their members everyday to make sure you are making a lot of CASH, non stop to your door... Here is the link. You will never look back, promise !!!! AL

There are places here in the US that will actually make the arrangements and send people back home where they belong. I have no problem with immigrants who actually wish to be a part of society, but as for those who come here and hate us anyway, I say get out!

Your idea is distasteful, to me anyway.
Money, unless it comes from crime, belongs to the person who earned it--to do with as he or she sees fit. That seems to me to be a fundamental right. It is not illegal to give money to a drug dealer--only to have the drugs in your possession.
Your idea is not practical. I could just give money to someone who has government-issued identification, and ask him or her to transfer it for me. I would prepay a VISA or mastercard, and give a card to the recipient of the money. I could do the same thing with an ATM card.
Your idea is mean-spirited. Often, the money is sent to people who are dirt-poor, to be spent on little children and old people.
You have asked yourself if your idea will work, and they you state that it will not. If you know that it will not work, why did you ask the question in the first place?
By the way, I'[m a Canadian citizen living and working in Taiwan. To send money home, I need to show my passport and ARC (green) card. I still don't know why this is a requirement.

I have never heard anyone suggest this, Sigy.
It is silly though. First off, if they are working in the USA they probably have an ID they could use.
Secondly, if they don't, they would just ask a friend or family member who does. Or, perhaps people will end up sending it for them for a set fee (citizens).
Lastly, the clerk that works at the Western Union office is not qualified (nor should she have to be) to check the validity of IDs.
This is a silly thought, and, would obviously make no difference.

Yes, it could be done using the money laundering laws. Since when do we take those that break our law in to consideration before we hold them accountable when we enforce our laws. Each would also have to show a SSN or a pass port before they can wire money. Much of that money is money in which no taxes were paid, so it is money laundering I going to give you a star. Sorry I need to take back the star, I did not read your whole question

I think we need to copy Eisenhower and a couple other Presidents who had the sense to see how illegals were wrecking the country, and the leadership to get them all sent home.
If we round up the illegals and deport them and tighten the borders, we will not have the issue of our money going outside the country to finance who knows what!
And yeah, we are going to deprive a lot of politicians of their money and vote bases...I weep crocodile tears for poor them.
One set of regulations for entry to the country, regardless of the nationality. And elect people to the government who are not beholden to illegals, and who have the courage to clean up the mess so we have a country of citizens.

Well, enforcing the law does take money and time -- especially when there are just so many criminals around these days doing just that. No, I don't think the solution is to shrug our shoulders and let it go. I think the money should be confiscated. I don't think they should be allowed to send any of their ill gotten gains home. Just because there are LOTS of criminal aliens, doesn't mean we have the luxury of letting them just carry on business as usual. We'd end up just like some of the countries to our south.
We need to really punish illegal aliens and their enablers and punish them hard. It's going to have to HURT if we are going to discourage them from staying and from continuing to invade in horde amounts. We have to make it painful on them.
Attrition and Deportation. Let's spend the money now before they bankrupt our future and the future of OUR children.

I think we should just send the illegals home. End or problem. They don't pay income taxes, arae filling up our schools (in CA at least), cost us working Americans a fortune in all that we have to support for them (free health care, food stamps, etc), and on top of it all, they send most of their money back to their country so it doesn't even help the U.S. economy.
