I've been using the artificial stuff my whole life with my pancakes, waffles, etc.. Now I'm considering switching to the real stuff. Is there any real difference in terms of taste? I know the real stuff is more expensive.

Maple syrup has a different flavor, it's not just a matter of better or worse. If you like other maple flavored things, then you may like maple syrup. One thing, real maple syrup needs to be kept in the fridge, so don't forget. Buy a small bottle and try it. If you don't like it, you're only out a few bucks.

If you've been using the artificial maple syrup, you may not like the flavour of the real stuff because it's distinctly different. I've tried both and prefer the artificial maple syrup.

Worth giving it a try if you can afford it.

real syrup is lots better than the artificial stuff. More maple flavor and richer. It is worth the expense and that is all i buy.
once you taste the real stuff you will not go back to artificial syrup again

They have distinctly different tastes and consistencies.
I like both, but tend to use artificial more often because it's cheaper.
But the real stuff is a nice treat, especially if you are making something special (baked french toast, special pancakes, etc - not eggos!!).

As the others have already mentioned, there is a difference.

I know of people who don't like the real stuff and think the artificial stuff tastes better, where as I like the real thing.

If you aren't sure, why don't you just buy a small bottle and if you don't like it you can switch to the artificial stuff. :)

There is no comparison in the taste or constituency. Real is far better. It is like comparing plastic roses to the real thing.

The real article is an investment. But if you want something that tastes worthwhile i would suggest buying the real item.Artificial anything is crap.

real syrup is more buttery and sweeter. its heavier and more amber colored, and more expensive. you cant beat the real deal. go for it, just buy a small bottle and use sparingly.
