i don't know. If a Black woman has her hair relaxed and bleached or a White girl bleaches her hair too much, it may cause some of it to break off, due to damage and overdrying, but i'm not sure about actually falling out, though, and even if it did, i don't think it would be all of it and it would still grow back. But that's mostly with bleach, though. I've dyed my hair for years and sometimes twice in the same week if i didn't like the color and it was fine, but once when i tried bleaching my hair too soon after dying it, it broke off so bad i had to cut it really short. I also didn't really know how to take care of it very well then, though. But now i use Pantene Pro - V shampoo/conditioner about 3 days before i color my hair and go 3 days without washing it (the hair's natural oils prevent it from drying out and protect it from damage) then use more Pantene Pro-V shampoo/conditioner and the after-coloring conditioner that comes with the dye when i'm finished and then i spray in a leave-in conditioner and let my hair drip dry (blow-drying or any other kind of heat treatments or styling can make colored hair more prone to dry out) . But,basically, though,as long as you take care of your hair and it's healthy and free from damage before you color, you should be fine. But if you're still hesitant about the drug store stuff, salons are a good option because they know what they're doing and can offer helpful tips for you to care for your colored hair.

Of course it can fall out. Dyeing is extremely damaging. Imagine if you took a silk shirt and you kept bleaching and then dyeing a different colour about 6 or 7 times. It's going to fall apart. Your hair is the same. I'm not saying it's going to fall out all at once, but I've seen some extreme cases of huge patches falling out. I've seen hair melt because a client didn't tell the hairstylist what she had colored her hair with.

I can tell you from first hand experience, your hair will fall out if you color it alot. I have been coloring my hair( back to it's natural color, I have been going grey since I was 21). I used to have a really think head of hair, but it has definitely gotten thinner. It won't all fall out at the same time, but it will get thinner.

NO!!! But breakage can happen, making you THINK your hair is falling out.....condition it well. Use a once/week conditioner or one that you put on your hair every day...something light as far as conditioners go....I like the Aussie 3-minute miracle....if it doesn't help at least it smells good!! As far as hair coloring, again, I would tell you to use Natural Instincts...I used to use it to cover up a little grey and it's a wash out type (30 washes or so) so if you don't like it, it will wash out ... about $8 per box....pretty cheap for what it does...take care and condition, condition, condition!!! :-)

I don't think it will ever just completely fall out, but it will get seriously damaged if it gets died to often. The hair gets weak, so it gets looser, but it won't fall out it in these massive clumps.
