I need to reinstall Microsoft Office on my laptop. I had it until I took my laptop to the shop due to a virus. I have the XP professional disk. Is Office, or something similar, on the XP Professional disk? If yes, how do I use the disk to load it? Thanks a bunch all!

The shop did just wipe it clean and reinstall the os. Will they still fix the problem?

Absolutely NOT. XP Pro CD is the OS only. Applications such as office comes on their OWN CD or DVD or whatever.

If the shop uninstalled your version of Office when they removed the virus, you should ask them to reinstall. Windows operating system is nothing to do with Office, it is just a piece of software that enables you to use Office and other programs. In future, make sure you have uptodate anti virus program on your computer so you can take care of it yourself without the need to go elsewhere.

If this came with the machine you either have an Office disk, or it was on a recovery partition on the machine. If the shop have lost it they need to recover it for you. They a liable for it's loss. How a repair shop can manage to lose it I don't know. They may have just re-installed the os.
