NASCAR will take it off the schedule eventually and thats unfortunate. It seems like us race fans are now left with cookie cutter, follow the leader race tracks. They have gotten rid of the tracks with character like the rock, darlington, they have even found a way to ruin bristol. I dont like it but i thinks its the way of the future.

Finally got my butt up to Martinsville for the truck race. Yes, more people should make a trip to this track. I prefer the short tracks, but I understand that nothing lasts forever. The Cup series is always evolving and moving. Martinsville could lose one date, but it would be a crime to lose both. I'd like to see the Cup cars under the lights at Martinsville.

I went to Martinsville for the first time last week and I thought this is a great track, I hope they just leave it alone, I don't think they have any reason to close it, it was packed to the gill, It isn't like nobody goes, we drove 16 hours to get there and would do it again, people are just so nice over there and all the people I met drove far to get there. So I hope not!!!

I really hope so. They need to find ways to keep the older tracks that are unique. Sadly someone will build another 1.5 mile quad oval with 200k seats and it will steal away a race from a good track someday. The least they could do it require new tracks to be unique in some way or make it like the old tracks (The Rock?) they gave up on.
24 - How can you say they wrecked Bristol? It races just like it did until they redid it in the early 90s. They can race again instead of follow the leader or wreck him as the only choices. Did you see them running 2 wide and being competitive on the outside? I thought it was great to see some real racing there.

I just want to start off by saying that I live not 15 minutes from the track and for those of you who have not been there,it's a must see. As far as lasting another 20 years I think it will. It creates tension between drivers and teams and is one of the most exciting,if not the most exciting, track on the circuit. I'd hate to see them stop racing there. It's the shortest superspeedway you're going to ever see.

I hope not, I like the racing there. Its not one of my favs but its good short track racin. But the sign of the times may have Martinsville out. I read on Jayski.com that there is a hearing this week on the Kentucky Speedway lawsuit. They are trying to get a Cup race.
