Not a cult
they use the bible and follow it very closely.
I think a cult is a religion that is not well known or maybe even unsafe.

A cult is a religion that is said to be unorthodox or that emphasizes devotion according to prescribed ritual. Many cults follow a living human leader, and often their adherents live in groups apart from the rest of society. The standard for what is orthodox, however, should be God's Word, and Jehovah's Witnesses strictly adhere to the Bible. Their worship is a way of life, not a ritual devotion. They neither follow a human nor isolate themselves from the rest of society. They live and work in the midst of other people.

Depends upon your definition of a cult. If you regard a cult as an organisation, sect or group claiming to be a religion - considered to be false, unorthodox, extremist, or problematic by society in general, or outside the currently accepted democratic culture of that country, then JW could be considered a cult.

I find all cults to be more correct than those who would label them as cult. Cult is a slang term used by eletists to stigmatize religions that are too different from them.

A "cult" means that they teach things about God which are contrary to the traditional, orthodox view of God.
Since Jehovah's Witness teach an unorthodox view of God (namely, concerning Jesus), they are considered a cult by most of the Christian groups.

Any group that writes a bible to support their theology, and then kicks you out if you disagree with them and bans you from contact with your friends and family, and then calls this a spiritual Time Out, is a Cult
I know this, because I was a Witness for over 20 years, and it took me more than 18 to deprogram.

A cult is not necessary a bad word. It is a formal means of expressing religious reverence; religious ceremony and ritual.

I don't call any church a cult. No churches have any more authority then the next. They all do their own thing.
A cult is something that hurts a person and takes advantage of them for selfish gain.
That's not JW
