Gypsy.... Christians ask other Christians because the Bible says that the mature should advise, council, teach, etc.,. the babes and each other.
However, before anything is accepted as "truth", we are to go and ask God if it is so....even then, we are advised to "test the spirits" to make sure we are not being misled.
Forgive me, but, the Holy Spirit does not agree with what you have stated as "fact".....the "blind person" is the one without the Holy Spirit whom discerns truth among mankind AND the Bible.
Personally, I was not taught the Bible by anyone within a church , nor by family or a friend, rarely have gone to a church, for one reason or another...so, the only ones whom were and are my teachers are God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
They are basically all I have ever needed. :)
I come here to be among wonderful people-Christian and non alike, and to help my brothers and sisters (or anyone else whom asks) in understanding and knowing the Lord and the Bible. :)

Who are you calling blind? It's because Christians know that at least some of us are not blind! Sometimes Christians like to take a break from the typical doubts of non believers. We want answers from people who have studied the Bible and know something about it, and also that they care something about it. You have no idea how worthless seeing an answer that says, " There is no God" is when asking a question like, " Does God have a plan for the Jews?" for example.
Somehow , " There is no God" does not answer very much at all for Christians. I'm sure that a fair minded individual can see my point.
Luke 6:39
He also told them this parable: "Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit?

In general, Christians get answers from othe Christians to form a bonding group and confirm that God is real. You can call it a pep rally of sorts. An Example is church. Ever wonder why Christians needed church if their faith was ture and pure towards God? Well, there's your answer.
The problem with this though is that since everyone is doing it in the group, they are not getting any diversity or different answers and thus everyone in the group is pretty much clueless. Rather sad. Many religions do this, kind of convince themselves and their children from an early age that God is real. In fact, it's extremely easy for parents to do to kids when they're young because children's line between fantasy and reality if quite faded.

Not so in all cases. I listen to many demoninations on radio. I do not agree with everything I hear but I learn something from all. Too many people are too dogmatic about things. They call religions cults without even understanding or hearing them out. To me the only true cult is one that says they are the only church and all others are false. God did not intend for us to remain stupid and dogmatic. If a preacher tells you the only way to heaven is through his church donot walk out. Run out

My guess is that some Christians want their fellow brethren to help find the answer to their questions. For example, what the message behind false prophets. Now, if you're talking about validation points, that's a different matter.

I want to hear from everyone when I ask a question. I usually get very respect full answers from people of all beliefs. Isn't this what Yahoo answers Is all about ?
If I wanted to know the best shampoo to use on colored hair a heart surgeon answered my question. I would respect his answer.

well because....it is kind of like having a Bible class or discussion amongst fellow Christians....Those who are non-believers typically don't know about the teachings of scripture. Therefore, that is why Christians insist on getting answers only from christians.

They are lost and no longer can find the way. So they find solice in what they each say and find a coffee and timbit in hand to deal with that guilt in some ways they are in formats correct to deal with their own kind and other ways making them very narrow minded. Imagine you are walking down the road you can't see nothing but in front of you. That is pretty stupid isn't it. What about the dog coming from the side and the car behind you and the ball coming zinging out of the ball park in hypotenuse coming to crack your noggin. Lol Surely they don't put things on the store all on one shelf. The Lord has sealed them down for their ignorance. Plain and simple.

For the same reason that an evolutionist asks another evolutionist, or a mechanic asks another mechanic. Why would they ask just anyone to answer their question if they want valid answers? You consider them blind because you are the one that is blind, you have no knowledge of God and have no basis for this question.

Gypsy - Do you mean about the larger questions on life or about simple small practices that apply only to their faith?
If its the latter - than Christians (of that denomination) or people learned in that tradition should only reply - they are the only ones qualified to.
If its the former - i have no clue as to why they would insist on receiving only answers from their own point of view.
