My close guy friend said to me " I want you to know, that uh that even if i dont really show it all that often, uh i think your really awesome" and he sounded all nervous.Do you think that this may have been his way trying to tell me that he likes me?

Do you need to hear more? That was as full of a declaration that He likes you as you can ask for. Yes He Does, And it took some courage on his part to tell you that. If you feel the same tell him.
