I only physically feel ok when under the influence and I can't seem to break the viscious cycle of high/come-down/get high to feel better.. any suggestions? I know that i am a loser for allowing myself to get this way , but I want out and am having a tough time being motivated without the drug. No motivation at all. Help!

It's so sad to me that so many people think of themselves as useless and pathetic, and you call yourself a loser!

You are a valuble human being who made a bad decision and is now suffering because of it.

Talk to a doctor. They will know what to do and who to call.

Believe in yourself. WIthout confidence you cannot beat this drug. LOVE YOURSELF!

Outside of western medicine there are alternative approaches to chemical dependency.

I suggest looking into all that the world offers. The reality of chemical dependency does not have the same stigma abroad and seeing this might help you drop some of the emotional baggage you attach to your "addiction".

The big bummer with dealing with dependency western med. style is the disregard of the lasting neurological impact and meth can have a lingering "no motivation" effect for months making "recovery" seem so far off.

In south america, Brazil, and Peru most notably, there are shaman that use ritual medicine and light spirituality to confront dependancy. Ayuhuasca (probably spelled wrong) is a powerful psychoactive drug that in studies has shown promise in hitting the neuro-reset button so to speak.

Look for all options. Find what is most attractive to you. You are the X factor.

First of all you need to recognize you have an addiction. You are an addict. I urge you to find a program that you can use to get clean.Start going to NA meetings when you have a craving instead of using. The best thing you can do for yourself right now is build up your sober support and stay away from people and places that are triggers for you. Seek professional help. Don't worry about money, there are programs out there that will help cover the cost without you paying anything.
Good Luck.

i did meth or some sort of uppers for over 20 years all together. one of the results is the parnoria does not go away very well. it takes time. the dreams will come but when it wakes you up at night sweating, either write it down or just say to yourself its only a f......ing drug dream and it cant get me. the psyical is hard and time consuming, i went to NA meetings ever time i started to feel like using i step up a group of friends who didnt use meth. and i became pregnant ha ha so that helped cause i wouldnt harm the baby. good luck

I am an ex drug addict and to be honest anyone that tried to help me just annoyed me. Fortunately I eventually gave up. But everyone is different. I have seen people "forced" to give up drugs by family locking them up etc and its worked. For me if that had happened I would have gone straight back to drugs. Perhaps talking to ex addicts might help. the best way to help someone off drugs is to get them to want to give up. I think education is the key. Most drug takers only know about the short term effects of the drugs and not the long term effects. Perhaps you could find one fo those programs that takes kids to meet criminals in jail? As for you, I know you want to help your brother but you and your family must also recognise that a lot of drug addicts are desperate and willdo anything for a fix. He is already stealing. I think perhaps its time he did live elsewhere or he will take you and your family down with him. Soon there will be nothing of value left in your house - especially if he has learned the lesson that the law did not do anything about it last time! He may just do it again and again. If your family is wealthy perhaps you could set him up in ahouse of his own, if not ... perhaps he needs to learn the hard way and get a job to pay rent? Most addicts need to "hit rock bottom" before they learn their lesson.
