How do we know? Adam and Eve were vegetarian.

Well I ate as a vegetarian for a while because I felt that the way the meat is produced was inhumane to the animal. If I had a better income I would eat free range only not processed from the terrible conditions of the factory farm. But not every vegetarian would agree with me.

Vegetarians have minds of their own, even if they do believe in a god. They are usually thoughtful and compassionate individuals who think about their impact on the world and the suffering they cause. Would you go around killing children if your god said it was okay? Or would you fall back on your inherent sense of right and wrong and ignore such a command?
Maybe you should question whether the information you have is correct - namely that there is a god (what real evidence do you have?) and if there is a god, how do you know what he/she/it says?
Also, you are way out of touch if you believe meat is necessary to maintain health. And no, I am not a vegetarian.

God says it's 'ok' but obviously he has given us the choice because it is still possible to survive on just a vegetarian diet. I've never eaten meat and I'm doing fine. I don't think it's bad for people to eat meat, I just don't want to. And God has provided alternatives like soya and tofu, so I don't think he minds either way.

scientifically speaking the human body itself is made to suit better for vegetarian food than meat. the human digestive system has very long intestines and retains food for a longer time compared to that of a carnivorous animal like a lion. the lion eats flesh and it is digested and excreted quickly. however in man, the meat is digested for a longer time and it rots in the intestines releasing toxin into the system. as someone in the medical line, i can say that meat eating causes many diseases such as hypertension, colon cancer and various diseases. albert einsten, goerge bernard shaw and abraham lincoln were vegetarians. u don't need religion to b a vegetarian, just common sense. as george bernard shaw said, don't turn your body into a graveyard for dead animals.

They want to stay healthy and they love their animal friends. The Bible doesn't say anything about having to go vegetarian/vegan. Heck, God told Peter (in a dream) that the forbidden foods of the OT were now okay to eat.
By the way, vegans tell us that we eat animals called dinner while keeping animals called pets. Well, don't they eat plants called food while keep flowers as decor?

Because no matter religion, some people respect all forms of life and therefore consume no flesh. To be a vegetarian or not - neither stance is wrong it is merely personal choice.
It is a fallacy to think that one could not be healthy if they don't eat meat.

At the Last Supper they were certainly eating meat. And while they might not have been heavy meat eaters, and today we should be careful about that, it is no sin to eat meat. Also, while eating shellfish may not be a sin (as that reg. was part of the typological law*), to eat characteristically unhealthy is, which for me pretty much eliminates fried clams! But why and how much we eat is the larger issue, it should not be out of lust (which i easily find myself doing), but with thanks toward God, and only what we need for daily strength, not indulgence, to the glory of God.

So when did eating meat has to do with keeping the human body healthy?
By the way, what your god said has nothing to do with me, he is your god, the one that created your hell, not mine.

Because there are many many people who don't use the bible to sanction their morals or values. Vegetarians don't eat meat b/c either they were raised that way, they feel it is healthier, or they think its wrong to eat an animal. It doesn't have to have anything to do with the bible.
