If you live near the ocean: How will it be affected by the ocean level increasing by 3, 6, or by 18 feet?
Go to a Public Meeting and ask THEM: "What are We, Meaning You, Doing About It?"
If you live near a forest, is it drying up? Is your community ready to deal with wildfires? California had the longest lasting wildfire in recorded history, this year.
If you live near a desert, is it getting warmer and bigger?

In any case, do you see new insects around? The West Nile fever is transmitted by mosquitoes. Go and prod somebody, your teachers or parents or friends.
One person, alone, will not stop Global Warming.
Not even A. Gore, can do it, that's why he is asking for help from all of us.
The issue of baking grandchildren, he said, "after you know, then it is a moral issue."

Remember, most wildfires, by far, are started by lightening.
The younger you are, the more effective your voice and more credible your concern.
For me, the issue is academic. I don't believe I will see it.

I was 8 or was it 9-now50, when I told my mom she could not use hair spray that was destroying the ozone. You can do much. I have reduced over 4 million dollars in electric bills over 30 years. Giving to organization like CoolingEarth.org is a start, helping get us off gas as fuel for cars, looking for ways to get us bullet trains, and/or eating less meat. Replace a light bulb with compact fluorescent. The list is endless. Find your own way. Enjoy.

see what you can do about designing a use for CO2

seriously, i dont think we're gonna be able to cut back enough, we've got to start actually using the CO2 we produce and not letting it into the atmosphere, and then, after a while, maybe start taking some of it back out of the atmosphere.

one idea someone had was to run it through tanks of algae so they'd grow and reproduce and also produce an oil like substance
haha, they eat the stuff

come up with a brilliant way to use that
and you'll do much better than turning off your lights

One thing I've recently done was sell my old heavy polluting car to a company that recycles the vehicle. Getting that heavy polluter off the road and buying a newer lower emission car I think for me was a better more efficient impact I could make. I went through this company that dedicates in scraping old cars, so that car or any of its parts will no longer be running. I found them at http://www.aqmsauto.com check it out.

Make sure your home has functional landscaping and shade cover. If your home has air conditioning, then solar radiation is causing it to exceed design temperatures. Paint with low e or UV resistant coatings, light colors, climbing vines, etc.

There is lots you can do and it is good that you are interested at your age. Us older folks will be passing this global warming mess on to your generation.

Everything is designed with temperature, go to http://www.thermoguy.com/globalwarming-heatgain.html to see beyond your visible spectrum.

The other ideas here are important, we only have one planet and once it is gone, so are we.

plan all your trips for one outing, walk, bike and when you are old enough live in a community were you can walk to your grocery store, coffee shop or any other things you enjoy doing.

car pool or take the bus - change out all your bulbs to fluorescent, recycle and buy products that are not package intensive ie using lots of packing, buy organic (uses less resources that damage the environment)

support candidates in your community that promote solar and wind energy and forbid polluting business in your community.

Don't drive a car. Don't use electricity. Don't eat meat(very inefficient to use lands for grazing and cows produce massive ammounts of methane). Don't heat your home. Don't buy any products from any company which uses electricity or burns fossil fuel for manufacturing or keeping their employees warm.

Put a bumper sticker on your SUV that says something like THINK GREEN or STOP GLOBAL WARMING. You can emit all the CO2 you want as long as its done for the purpose of "creating awareness".

you can plant trees to lessen the greenhouse effects in the environment and you can also recycle non-biodegradable materials such as plastics so that you will not burn it and contribute to the globalwarming....
