Hi,

1) Yes, definitely. Not only will it look very good on your resume, but you'll develop a really good work ethic which will give you a far better chance of success when you're older.

2) No, having a - in my case - girlfriend during high school didn't turn out to be important at all. Although it certainly seemed it at the time.

Good luck for the future!

Peach Pie,
Oh yes, it definitely! People who work hard at your age make excellent employees once they finish college -in fact, it helps you succeed in college, as well. Do take some time for yourself, but do keep going. To be doing this at 14 speaks volumes about your future. Your future is now, actually. Sound odd?

It's true. What you are doing now is creating who you will be in the future. The people who think they will become someone better when the future arrives are sadly disappointed by the results they get. You are building the foundation of your life at this moment.

The money in the bank is excellent, too. You can put it in a long-term CD (certificate of deposit) to get a higher rate than a regular savings account will pay. By the time you get to college, it will be a big help to you. If you can record the Suze Orman Show on Saturday nights, you will learn a lot about what to do, and what not to do, with your money. You can also go to her website at: http://www.suzeorman.com. Watching her is more fun, but with your commitments, you may not have the time.

Dating in high school is not all that important. It can really pull you away from your goals. I can't tell you how many of my professors, who had their master's degrees, told our classes that they were working on their PhD, but never finished them because they fell in love. Worse, not one of them were still with the person they were in love with. That said, you do need to learn social skills, take a break from all that work, and some occasional dates can be good for that. Getting involved in deep relationships are what can really cause you to lose your focus. Friends can be a good source of occasional dates, especially to the Proms and social events at school. Just let everyone know where your focus is, so they shouldn't expect more than the prom, etc.

You may email me through my profile if you have any questions I can answer, or help you to research. Your parents should be SO proud of you!

YOU GO GIRL!

Are you saving for college? If so, then definitely, it is worth it. You'll want to do some partying in college, and if your finances are undr control, you'll be able to swing a few togas in there. ;)

And really, high school dating? I skipped the whole process. I dated people during the summer, but during the school year, I didn't have time for that nonsense. And the guys were so immature. I enjoyed college dating much more.

It would be awsome if you work and go to school and get good grades but you have to balance it. Also, is you work and save your money for the future, you won't feel guilty if you buy a really expensive item all on your own because you deserved it.

So Work your hours, go and stay and school, save money for prom and whatnot, don't rely on anybody anymore with finacial issues and do it on your own. That's what I did.
