The cruise ships that operate from US ports all hire their staff from overseas through contractors. It is almost impossible to find an American on the service staff of a cruiseline. The cruise staff like the singers, dancers, acts, and the cruise management staff are likely to be Americans but not the service staff.

The service staff works extremely long hours (16+ hours a day) for basically tips. They have to sign a contract of 4 months with almost no time off. Their living quarters are crowded into tiny cabins without windows. They are not allowed to have social contact with passengers.

Is that the kind of job you really want? The bartender is NOT like Isaac of Love Boat on television.

I agree with Globe Trotta. try another department.
She works for Princess which is one of the few cruise lines which still run their shops. On most its a concession.
I did shops for a long time but would not work for Starboard again, Hardings is much better in my opinion, better pay and less work.
www.hardingbros.co.uk.
also really easy to get in.

Have you people noticed that Tivogal answers questions always with the same moronic reply and then goes on to thumbs down everybody else?
What an as****.

merely shop checking the job openings on the guy cruise deliver web content, thats the place all jobs are published. There could no longer be any openings now so shop finding each and every week. And persist with for something you're qualified for, whether its no longer a bar supervisor, as quickly as you're employed you will then discover out approximately new openings which could no longer be marketed. a chum began in new child care then develop into waiting to circulate as much as purser. something asking you to pay to discover jobs is a rip-off

If you're seriously looking for a job on a ship go to their website. For example, Carnival.com, then find the job/career section. They will list the jobs and the location including at sea.
