Ok. So me and my girlfriend both went to a school dance this last week. She said for the first hour of the dance she wants to dance with her friends and such and she'll meet up with me later. So I'm thinking ok its kinda weird, but i respect that, she can have her space. But 15 minutes into the dance i get about 3 people telling me shes looking for me. And i end up dancing with her the entire night. Now this whole split up the time thing between friends and dates is not new to her. She did this to her last boyfriend. Why would she make the exception for me?

The only reason I think its so weird is this is something shes always apparently done. Her friends were there the whole time. And I told her, as weird as it was, she can dance with whomever else she wants, that I was absolutely ok with it and would not take it personally or anything.

It is quite possible that she made an exception for you like you think. But it is also rational to surmise that the person or people she thought would be there, and she wanted to dance with, did not show up.In that case, she did not make an exception for you.Regardless, I think this split time policy of hers is disrespectful to you and needs to end. It is one thing to dance with other people at a dance; but it is a whole ball of wax to tell your boyfriend that the first hour is going to go to other people no matter who they are. Would she accept it if you elected to do something similar to her and made her second best.Plus she did this to her last boyfriend. So I suggest you have a sit-down talk with her, let her know that as her boyfriend you are number one, that she can not go out with you and then ditch you to be with other people for one hour and then come back to you.If she starts to protest, then maybe it is time for you to start reassessing your relationship. You are either her boyfriend or you are not; she is your girlfriend or she is not, she can not have it both ways. One word of caution:she may threaten to end it with you if you don't agree so be prepared for that; or don't do it if you know you can't handle that possibility. What else would she do or come up with if you don't end it now. let her know you are not her ex and you are not going to accept everything she decides to do. Good luck.I had posted the above before I saw and read your additional details, but it still does not make me change anything. Quite the contratry, I feel more strongly about my position.

Well she sounds kind of clingy, but i guess that if she wouldn't spend any time with her friends before when she was with her ex then maybe she's not as clingy as before. Maybe she wanted to show off YOU and wanted people to see you with her. Maybe she got in a fight with her friends or didn't want the night to turn sour with her friends so she thought that staying with you would save you from a quarrel. I don't know the whole situation, but that's my input.

Maybe her friends got boring?
I dunno, what's what I did at homecoming. I wanted to hang out with just my friends for a bit, and him for the rest of the time. Probably half an hour into it, they either all went off with their own dates or they were getting super dull so I hung out with my date instead.

No idea, to be honest I think you should stop reading so much into it and just enjoy your relationship. You really can't decipher each and every little action people take, sometimes we just do things cos we do! No alterior motive
