Few have said it yet. Somebody needs to. We are on the verge of WWIII.
The signs are here. Armies massing in a tinderbox around the oil fields of the Mideast. Armies massing on the India-Pakistan border, another flash point in the world.
Amidst a war of words that has ended in war before, the two sides are sending each other’s diplomats home. North Korea is busily turning its nuclear facilities to the sincere task of creating enriched uranium for nuclear missiles while presenting a face of peace to the world.
America the just has seen the rise to power of a dangerously misdirected mind, amidst an election sham, with a small amount of time left to leave a lasting legacy.
Secret plans have been unearthed in the past forty-eight hours to further attenuate the rights of US citizens, including secret arrests and seizure of property; detention without counsel and without notification (disappearances); even plans to expunge the citizenship of anyone caught in a ‘terrorist’ organization, where the government defines what a terrorist organization is. All with no recourse to the courts.
And war. Every tyrannical and totalitarian regime needs war. They will say they don’t want world war, but world war consolidates and perpetuates their grip on power.
World war breaks out easily from a major confrontation as that in Iraq. As the major war transfixes the world, myriad minor ones break out, as nations use the cover of the big events in Iraq and India and Korea to settle scores elsewhere.
China will wait until the USA is war-weary, and will then strike Tawiwan/Formosa to ‘reunite’ them to mainland China.
Nukes will be used in WWIII. There are too many of these terrible weapons stockpiled around the world to be secure. Some fool will unleash them, and once he does, all bets are off. Retaliations and counter-retaliations will wreck large sections of the biosphere.
Or things can cool down, once the Texan leave office....what will it be?

Yes I think we are on the brink of it, Bush is evil, greedy, and is already shown he will have evidence fabricated to start a war with another country. He has proved that he will have his own people killed to start a war, when he attacks Iran, America will know longer be an issue for we will reap the judgment of GOD, and be destroyed for our sins, America is the biggest terrorists in the world and will be judged accordingly.

I honestly don't believe we will ever see another world war. There is always the possibility, but it's doubtful. There may be plenty of multi country fights, but not a world war compared to the 1st and 2nd.

Won't happen as long as the Chinese are raking in big business. Attacking and bombing Iran, if done by the US, will not result in a WW unless it becomes a religious war, then it will be Muslims against the world.

Since it's not happening at the moment, then logic dictates that if there is to be a WWIII, then it will happen in the future. The reason is that someone will do something that someone else doesn't like. At that point, it won't really matter, nukes are impartial.

Yes World War III will happen in the future.
Why, because it isn't going to happen in the past.

I believe we are already in it. We are at war with not just two countries but an entire religion. There's a huge difference in a religious war and a national war. Those people in the Middle East are bent on killing every American.
Iranian President Ahmadinejad on our own soil said they'll destroy the Sunday people (Christians and Americans in general) first and the Saturday people (Isreal) next.
If you look at history, you'll see that history is going to repeat itself. Alexander the Great tried to invade India during monsoon season. He failed. The United States invaded Vietnam in monsoon season. They failed. Hitler tried to wipe out the Jewish people. Now you have some Iranian person saying he will try to kill them.

We do not have one future. We probably have an infinite number of possible futures. Destruction of the planet by nuclear holocaust is among these infinite scenarios. It becomes more likely if we believe it is likely.
