It doesn't really make sense to me.
I doubt lots of people were really "consumed with demons" left and right, like the bible speaks of, having jesus go from person to person releasing these demons.
And on that note, i think it totally undermines the explicit message given in the bible when someone tries to say that, for all we know, these "demons" might have been illness and infirmity and such. If it is the word of god, why does god make it sound unnecessarily mystical, with "demons" meaning something that had nothing to do with actual significant demonic activity?

He did cast out demons from a few, but scripture does not say lots of people.

Go back and reread the gospels. More often than not Jesus dealt with the fruit of demons rather than actual demonic possession.

Well, I must say that I do believe he did come and he did heal all those that were possesed with demons and healed all manner of sickness and diseases. Jesus was the son of God and came that all men might be saved and healed. Man had become evil with their ways and man needed someone how was not of this world to deliver us from the evil that did not come from this world. Just as you have an Up you have a Down. Just as if you have a Light, you have a Dark, and just as you have Good you have Evil. When Satan was cast out of Heaven 1/3 of the angles were cast out with him and when they were cast out, their Continues changed. The did not look like nice looking angles, but were consumed by what they were acting like, which were evil. People are not naturally Murders, or Rapist, or Thief's, it's an Evil Spirit and Jesus, did deliver people from these evil spirits of today. If you believe the Bible. The Bible is right and every, every thing in it is correct, from Genesis to Revelation.

It makes sense when you are educated by God. Even though Jesus looked human He was also born with God's genetics to make Him able to see both the physical and spiritual realms. He was able to see the demon who was possessing the individual human that other humans never could. The Bible even quotes the conversations between the demon and Jesus which was not always verbal for the surrounding people to hear. For example when Jesus forced the demons out of humans and into the pigs that then killed themselves. The pig farmers didn't hear the conversation between Jesus and the demons or could see the demons transfer from the humans to the pigs. All they witnessed was Jesus causing the death of their pigs. Which caused them to lose a lot of money.

On several occasions the demons actually spoke to Jesus before he cast them out. Check out Matthew 8:28-33. The dialogue is interesting. The demons know who Jesus is and what their fate will be. Hope this helps.

Yes he did and there are alot of people today who are posessed with demons, since you are not a Christian you can feel the evil Christians can, When a born again believer gets near a person who is posessed you can feel a that conflict, it is a terrible feeling to, that demon doesn't want you close to the one they have consumed, they are afraid you might say something that will make that person start wanting to change their life. If a person really wants to change, the Holy Spirit will make demon leave. I have seen many people who are posessed, make no mistake about it they are out there, I suggest you start going to church and reading your Bible, and I pray God opens your eyes to the truth, Just like God is real, so it the devil.

Maybe Jesus knew something that you don't know.
I for one have had a demon cast out of me and I can tell you they are as common as the common cold and every bit as real. However they come in all degrees of severity just like sickness. One person could have a viral infection and die from it. Another might have a viral infection and merely suffer irritation and fatigue. Such is the case with demons. Quite likely you have some demons dwelling in you, but they will tell you they are something else, and fool you very easily, because you think you know more than the Word of God.

Yes, I believe it was really demons. Possession happens even today, mainly in cultures that are more open to them and therefor, more susceptible.

No. I think that ancient societies had no way of understanding mental illness and attributed it to a religious explanations.
