I bought the recycling bin and the trash can and I am always the one taking out the trash other than my roommates. I had enough so I just grabbed my two bins and put them by my bedside. I thought they got the picture when they started putting trash in a plastic bag. but this was last sunday. The trash is still in the bag and it is mixed with recycles!!! It is still there and overflowing! it's not my trash and I don't understand why they aren't taking it out! are they waiting for me to do it??

they also never clean the shower or sinks. I find phlegm all over because they are smokers. It's disgusting.

I know last year I was having some issues and had a hard time focusing on cleaning things and my old roommates had to nag me.

but this is like worse then ME! I thought I was a slob! I guess I'm not that bad after all.

today I came back to find the window open. It's serious because I knew it was raining this weekend! what if I left my laptop on the desk?

help!

i dont know what to tell you about the phlem problem, other than to talk to your roommates about it and ask that they please be a litte more cleanly..
but as for the trash, i was having the same problem with my roommates. we have a dry-erase board on our refridgerator for notes and stuff, so i wrote out all of our names under a title "TRASH DUTY" and i took out the trash and then put a check next to my name. i guess they got the picture, because now we take turns taking out the trash (and recycleables) by knowing who did it last, and when its your turn.
hope this helps :)

Of course they're waiting for you to do it. If your cleaning and they don't lift a finger, don't be suprised. I've had roommates exactly like that. That's why I don't move in with roomies anymore. Just tell them this, "If you wish to be kicked out of this appartment, be my guest!". Sometimes it doesn't pay to be nice.

Ben Franklin once said, Fish friends and relatives stink after three days. They probably know that they are slobs and are trying to convey a message to you. Its time to find another place to live and leave those slobs to themselves.

You should sit down and have a firm talk to your roomies. Tell them that they should clean up their mess, and that you are not their maid. If you don't correct them, it will only get worse. I've been in that boat before.
