Basically I think people are being a little harsh. The person wanted to know if people believed in dinosaurs and if they didn't how did they reconcile the existence of fossils with their faith. It's a fair question I understand many Christians struggle with.

To add my two bits...
When I was younger one of my friends professed a similar belief and I have to admit I was a little incredulous one of the smarted girls I knew could think that way and dismissed her opinions along the same lines as many of you have done. Then about two years ago I was watching an episode of John Safran Vs God and there was this is the quote that rocked my world.

"I admit there are some people smart enough to understand science and the big band theory and all that stuff and therefore have enough insight and knowledge to be an atheist.
But let’s face it you're not one of them, why because you are a humanities student with an arts degree.
Let’s not play any games here. If I came over to your place right now and asked you to explain exactly why the big bang theory is more rational than Genesis you wouldn't even be able to stutter out a semblance on an answer.
So where do you get off sniggering at Christians like they are stupid and you have some amazing insight..."

I believe in the existence of dinosaurs and that they lived millions possible billions of years ago but because I have never seen a fossil and have no understanding of carbon dating and the whole layers of soil and rock thing I am just taking what has been commonly said on good faith. How do I know there wasn't just so weird calcium thingy going on with the bones to make them so, how do I no the scientists have made some huge errors in their calculations.

Furthermore I do not know of a specific scientist specialising in the field of palaeontology who I have heard verify this claims, therefore I am just believing what "they" say and you know you can not always believe the things "they" say.

kt, Here is something that I want you to think about.

Science is changing all of the time. We are told one thing is fact and then the next day a discovery is made that tells us something new. When Pluto was discovered it was a planet and now it is not. When dinosaurs were discovered we were told that they existed the same time as cavemen. We were told this by scientists by the way.

God hasn't changed since the beginning of time. He is just as powerful now as He was when he created the Earth. God created all of the creatures and this included dinosaurs. It is possible that when God brought on the great flood that he did not send two of each dinosaur onto the boat. Remember that God sent two of each animal to Noah. He washed away the old world, cleansing it in water. He could have killed off the dinosaurs and buried them beneath the Earth when He did that. Only He knows the answer to that and man will not know that until we meet Him in Heaven.

When you do meet Him there though, you won't care about any of that kind of stuff. You will be so happy to be with the Lord that none of the stuff that happened here on Earth will matter anymore.

Don't let people tell you that you are stupid for asking this question. Asking these kinds of questions and questioning your faith is the only way that you will grow closer to God. I hope that I have helped you on your journey a little.

God Bless

Because they do not see how, based on a young Earth, there would have been the possibility of animals of that size and prowess. I think it is very easily possible. If Adam and the other early Bible characters lived as long as they did, y couldn't the animals? Lizards never stop growing. If they lives for 500 years then they would get pretty darn big. It makes sense to me, but there are some out there that do not understand the concept at all and thus just say that those "dinosaurs" that we found were just flukes. They were just us humans taking other bones from other animals and making these massive creatures.

There were certainly dinosaurs before the Great Flood. It is also possible there were dinosaurs after the Great Flood. If so, then I guess that is why they called Nimrod a mighty hunter -- because he was killing off those large animals as fast as he could. Also, if so, then they would have been on Noah's Ark as babies -- not fully grown. No reason to take full-grown animals on the Ark and have to stock sufficient food for them all and take care of the refuse a full grown animal can produce.

As to how the dinosaurs came to be -- I have mixed feelings about that...

1) I suppose it is possible God created them, but then they certainly wouldn't be the terrible brutes paleontologists make them out to be. After all, just because they have a wild set of teeth does not mean they were meat-eaters. Haven't you see the pictures of certain herbivores today whom have huge sets of pointed teeth and canines?

2) The other possibility is that antediluvian man made them via amalgamation -- for example, somehow crossing a lizard with an elephant. After all, they were not the degenerate form of mankind we now have which uses only a tenth or less of their brain capacity. Antediluvian man was so much more smarter than that and, being long-lived, had 800 to 900 years in which to learn things and perfect their techniques.

I hope you can find neutral ground that fits in with your faith. I guess that'll be your objective now. Not believing in dinosaurs is like saying I don't believe in the sun. It's right there. And there are additionally many other, now extinct animal groups besides dinosaurs that no longer exist. In fact, there are many times more animal species now extinct, than currently live. Animal groups, and species fill a spot for a time, and die out. And there's always another species available to take that place in that environment. That's what happens on planet earth. Good luck.

You ask a question*, then get bent out of shape because people answer it?

Who is the IDIOT ? (For an answer, go look in the mirror)

* At lease I think you asked a question. Your title is not a question at all, but in the rest of your text there appears to be some, but your language is so poor it is hard to tell what you are actually saying.

But here is what I think:
No.
Nobody created them, they evolved though a natural, unguided process.

I do not believe in creation, so N/A

The God Yahweh did create the dinosaurs for millions of years during the prehistoric eras of evolution. The Bible does not take into written account the prehistoric eras but starts recording the Earth's history at the beginning of the modern era of evolution which modern humans were the last creation of God to evolve. The dinosaurs were long extinct before Noah's flood. The world wide flood on The 1st. Day of Creation in Genesis drowned the last of the dinosaurs in the last prehistoric era.

dinasours may not be mentioned in the bible, doesn't mean they didn't exist.
I imagine God put in the Bible want we really need to concentrate on.
Like Jesus is real but the Bible does not need to go into every birthday he had,the toys he played with etc.
Scientist say there was a planet ,they named it.Put it in science books.I believed them. Now,they say there isn't a pluto.Huh!
Many history books didn't include the inventions and contributions of African Americans and other nationalities. Our history book gave honorable mention to maybe 2pages of a 180 page history book.Huh!
But we still believe every thing they say.
Our minds are but a grain of sand, compared the vast knowledge of God.
He gives us what we need to know and concentrate on! Take care!

There is conclusive evidence of dinosaurs existence. I respect that you want to know how they are addressed in your religion but to deny their existence when you can go to a museum and actually touch their bones doesn't make sense to me.

I too am interested in knowing how their existence is addressed in your religion. I find those topics quite interesting.

Ooh. And one more thing. Do you think that something has to be discussed in your religion to confirm it's existence? If dinosaurs were just a common part of life maybe it wasn't important enough, at the time, to record.
