We know that noah was 600 years old when the flood came. genesis 7:6

we also know that noah was at least 500 years old when he had his three sons. genesis 5:32

we also know that noah and his three sons and their wives went into the ark. genesis 7:7

although god could have spoken to noah sometime before the birth of his sons, it certainly seems from the order of events in genesis that god spoke to him AFTER the birth of his sons.

therefore, the building of the ark must have taken 100 years or less, probably considerably less.

god bless

A lot of people say 120 years but I can find no scripture to back this up. All I can find is that after Noah was 500 years old he became the father of Shem, Ham & Japheth. - Genesis 5:32. Genesis 7:11 tells us that Noah was 600 years 2 months, & 17 days old when the flood came. This leads me to believe that 70 to 80 years is more accurate than 120 years.

The Bible doesn't tell us how long.

Through study people have said it took him 120 years to build the ark.

120 Years.

Not ultra clear, but this number is derived from a combination reading of Gen. 6:3 together with 1 Pet. 3:20.

1 Peter 3:20 says "God waited patiently while the ark was being built" ... and Genesis 6:3 basically says that "God will have 120 years of patience"

Look around in Genisis, where it tells about Noah. I'm not all too sure, but you're most likely to find it there...
