There is peace in the world. I am at peace with myself. I know it is a little thing, but great things come from humble beginnings. Try to be at peace. God bless.

What makes you think a Pope is the ultimate Christian? There are no good Christians, and no bad Christians. Either you are a Christian or you aren't!! All are treated equal with God's love. ( my educated opinion garnered from my studies of God's inspired word---the Bible) But to answer your question which is not an opinion.
From a yellowed news clip I have in my Bible.
" 'PRAYER HEALS STUDY SHOWS'.
CHICAGO (UPI) --- Hospitalized heart patients had slightly fewer medical complications when other people prayed for their recovery, according to a new medical study.
The study, summarized in the current issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association, was conducted by Dr.Randolph Byrd, formerly of the University of California-San Francisco, at San Francisco General Medical Centre's coronary care unit in 1982 and '83.
Statistics showed two groups were equally sick when they entered the hospital, but that patients who were prayed for had fewer complications during their stay than the other group".
I would also add that there have been hundreds of other studies as well that show the power of prayer is great. And that 'contrary to what you my believe', prayer is a very strong and powerful tool that does work.

Where is the "proof" prayer does not work? There is proof it does work though. Years ago i watched a TV show that showed 2 plants, both watered, both given sunlight, both treated the same way with the exception that one was prayed for IE growth, strength etc and the other nothing. Over and over and over no matter how many times they did it the plant that was prayed for always thrived better, looked better, blossomed better. You do the math.......

Believing in prayers getting answered requires faith. Religion is a state of mind. You can believe whatever you want. For those who choose to believe, prayer works. For some of us we believe what it says in the Bible. There are many instances of miracles and prayers being answered. Jesus was and is all good. I firmly believe because I know God has answered my most important prayer. Once you believe, no one can take it away. It says that if we don't believe in Jesus, we will not live in eternal happiness, why take that chance. Believing changes your life for the good even with all the trials and tribulations we face in this world.

God answers prayer in His own time not ours. When it is time for peace there will be peace. When the Pope prays for peace, He is actually praying for Christs return. That is when there will be total peace on earth and not befor then.

when the Jews were scattered from Israel after 70AD when the romans destroyed their temple.... they lived everywhere... each year praying that they would "next year" be back in Israel.
they prayed it for roughly 2,000 years. until finally in 1948 they could begin to return to their homeland.
persistance, and timing has alot to do with it.
.
you say what you do because you dont know anything about prayer.

Who told you that prayer has guaranteed success? Did you mom give you everything you asked for? Prayer is a request. Anyone who expects God to grant them everything they ask for is seriously self-absorbed. There are also purposes for prayer besides just getting what you want.

the pope asks for things a litle to big for his own faith to believe in but if he were to ask for some thing a bit smaller like peace in Afghanistan it might happen!
small prayers are answered faster then large one do to the faith of the one who prays. but even the big one get answered as your faith grows!

Actually there is more proof that prayer does work.
We can be sure that God wants peace, it's humans that don't.
God does not impose his will on people, he loves them.

Maybe because prayer does work for some people otherwise I think after thousands of years they'd stop doing it.
I don't believe in God so I don't pray......but if it works for some people I'm not going to knock it.
