Puppies can be spayed as early as six weeks old, depending upong their weight. Contact your vet or local low cost spay/neuter clinic for their requirements. In the past, female dogs were not spayed until 6 months of age, however, it has been proven that it is far better to perform the procedure at a younger age. Definitely before 4 months.

Some people would say to neuter/spay very young, but I have heard that there are no real benefits from an early operation. My dogs got altered at six months, which is now the running average. I would say no later than six months. Technically you could spay now, but most people like to get comfortable with their pups before having a major operation done.

my lab pup was just spayed a couple of weeks and she was almost 6 months old- BUT our vet told us when we brought her in at 10 weeks that he would do it anytime including right then at 10 weeks. Definitely have it done by 6 months.

At my vet we recommend between 5-6 months of age. You want to get them spayed before their first heat cycle because every one that they go through increases the chances of cancer or other problems.
You should definitely wait to get your puppy spayed for a few more months.

my mom works for a vet here and they recommened you do it early you can have it done at 8 weeks but for sure by 6 months if it is a femal you should have it done before thier first heat cycle and that is 6 months but i think it varies at each office you should call your local vet and ask them

It is safe to do it now, but it is best to wait until she is at least five months of age, preferably six months.
As long as you do it before she has her first heat, you are golden!!
