I graduated in May from college and have been looking for a job to start my career. I've barely had any luck, I've been applying over mail, handing people resumes, networking and nothing is working. And now, I'm even trying to get just a regular mundane job to pass time and make a little money but they're all being taken by high schoolers who need the jobs much much less than I do. What do I do to get over this?

I must add that I have a degree in Mass Communications from Miami U of Ohio and have had a lot of experience in the area through internships and students jobs, so I don't lack the skills.

Have you tried a temp service? Often you can get in the door with a temp service and then at least you are noticed. It will also give you some money.

If you can afford it you might look into hiring a headhunter. Have you considered relocating? Could it be that the area you live doesn't have a big demand for jobs in your field?

Have a professional look over your resume and see if it needs to be adjusted.

You may have to move. There may be more opportunities someplace else. Maybe you should get a Sunday newspaper from other major cities, such as Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, and Boston, to name a few. Maybe there are more jobs in those markets where there is more telecommunications and need for people to do mass media.
