I was with a friend the other day and he has a really bad cold. He walked up to me and coughed right in my face, then laughed about it. I have refused to talk to him ever since. Now I have his cold and I am really sick.
I work as a bus monitor with autistic children. Should I call out of work. I can't get them sick, but they always have a terrible time finding someone to fill in when I call out.

Well one of the kids has a problem keeping still so I have to hold his legs down sometimes so he doesnt kid the other two kids, so I have to touch him.
My boss, is my dad and he says I need to go to work, there is nobody else that can do it. I will wash my hands, I will wear a mask, and we keep a big bottle of hand sanitizer in the van so I think i'll be ok

Call your job and explain what happened. Then do whatever they tell you to do. As for your friend, I hope you never see him or talk to him again; he is a sick sadistic jerk. If you do have to go, wear a disposable mask and tell the children you have a cold and you don't want them to catch it. Leave the decision up to your boss.

Do not expose the children, if you must go to work wear a mask and wash your hands, don't touch the children.

I am a mom of a chronically ill child. If you do go to work, please wear a mask. These children can get colds easy and some will end up in the hospital.

Yes, you should ahead of time and im sure they will find someone, but its up to you.
Its either you go and get the other kids sick, or you stay home and someone else takes care of them.

I know that's difficult but I would say to call in sick, rather than risk getting the kids sick. Or tell your boss you are sick and see what he or she would raher you do.

if you have a fever, you really shouldn't go anywhere.
If you're coughing alot, then if you go, wear a mask.
if you end up going, keep some hand sanitizer in your pocket and use it often.
