Compared to what other countries have done to their captured enemies, especially the islamic terrorist groups, what some bleeding-heart bimbos accuse America of doing isn't even CLOSE to real torture.
You want to know about torture, spend a couple of days in a Turkish or Mexican jail, or let Al Qaeda get their hands on you and have your head removed slowly with a butcher knife.
The truth is that the US is TOO FREAKING EASY on the islamic slime they've imprisoned. If torture forces any of these scumbags to give out information that can save innocent lives then I say put it to them. Forget what the rest of the world says and thinks about us. Everybody hates us anyway, no matter what we do or don't do.

The History Channel does not want to get into the political fray about the definition of torture; however, every other country in the world and the UN has said what this government is doing with prisoners at "black sites," and places like Gitmo is torture because they are combining stresses that amounts to torture. Few people would not say that "waterboarding" is not torture, either. However, the President and others in the Administration claim that we do not torture. History will eventually decide whether or not we torture.
By the way, just because another country tortures or our enemies torture, does not give this country the right to torture. We have always been at the forefront in human rights around the world. Sad to say, my country is no longer that country. We are no longer leaders for human rights, justice, and decency. I hope someday this will change.

If you have the time go on the Internet and look up rendition.
The CIA does not like to refer to the word torture. My understanding is they use the practice of rendition which is the transfer of suspected terrorists to some Middle east countries where in lieu of the CIA handling the experience
the referral country will use physical persuasion to obtain
the information.

Perhaps they had difficulty getting the interviews they would need to make the claims hold up.
Perhaps, they were afraid that the intelligence agencies would stomp all over them.
Perhaps these events are just too new.
take your pick or ask the History channel

There is a different between evidence and speculation. You might assume that torture takes place at Gitmo, but do you have an concrete evidence?
