How difficult is Marine boot camp? I heard that if you were in, and you didn't think you could make it and tried to get out; that they made it kind of hard. Do they try to get people to finish it even if there struggling through the whole thing and wanting to quit?

its a mind game. its easy. just do it.

if you cant make it through basic, then you dont want to join anyway.

imagine spending weeks at a time living in a truck in the desert. it sucks. keep in mind that your purpose in life is to serve in combat.

i have been through training that makes basic look like a daycare. i have spent weeks in the woods with no food other than what i find and been sleep deprived for days on end. get over it.

Boot Camp is pretty stressful. I went it pretty motivated, I thought it was gonna be the greatest thing in my life.

While I was there I hated almost every second of it, and if I had I choice I would have probably quit, but thank God I didn't. I sucked it up ad graduated and that was the happiest day of my life. After that I was promoted a few times, went on tho OCS and became a Marine Officer. But I gotta say, boot camp was the greatest memories.

And after becoming my personality changed greatly. I was pretty competitive since I was a kid, but my confidence level boosted quite a bit.

If you are planning on quitting, forget about it. All the guys that go through it are 110% committed and they feel like they want to quit, imagine how it would be if you were only 90% committed, or less.

It is hard! If you're going to boot camp you need to get in shape. Start running, (cardio workouts) to build your endurance. They run a lot. Also, it's mentally challenging in the sence that they yell and tell you to do stuff over and over until you get it right. If you go in thinking, it's not personal they're just trying to train you to be the best, you'll do fine. The Crucible is the final stage and it's physically and mentally tough, but once you've completed it...you can call yourself a Marine. Not a title that many have the privilege of wearing. Good luck.

How difficult is recruit training? Question.... how much do you want to be a Marine? How good of shape are you in? How hard are you willing to work?

If you take pride in yourself....if you really want to be a Marine... it is demanding...VERY DEMANDING... but easily survivable.

Put your mind to it and EARN the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor and the right to carry the title of US Marine.

If you are not willing to put your all into becoming a Marine then you might as well stay home.

Marine boot camp is very difficult. If you are over weight or have a health condition like flat feet, asthma, or are an uncoordinated retard you could die.

"Marine boot camp will push you to your physical and mental limits. If you're having problems they will help. I'm not saying they'll make it easy for you, but they'll give you the extra attention you need to get through."

A quote from my husband.

"Made it kinda hard?"
They make your live a living hell.
You made a committment. They will do everything to try to motivate you to complete it.
They will ride your tail like no one else has ever done before, they'll run you into the ground, they'll call your mother a whore, they'll call you a queer, and if they piss you off enough to make you hate them and show them you can pass basic just to spite them, they'll be the first to to congratulate you. That's their job.

It is very tough, but many before you have conquered it, and many after you will as well.
